We spoke to the folks at Clifford Hearth & Leisure about a fireplace insert for our parents. They were professionals throughout the process, from the first home visit to the final installation. It is sometimes challenging to work with and please 85 year customers but they did a fantastic job. We would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a retrofit in a century home!

Waited over six months to charge my card for an assessment visit, $130.Otherwise. Nice guys, called the right people for me, made my day simpler. Docking a star for the late processing, and docking a star because they insisted on doing an unnecessary “furnace cleaning” on a problem that they announced beforehand was a blown fuse.

I called this company looking to see if they sold something. While they didn't have it what I wanted (turned out I don't need it anyway) the guy I spoke to was so incredibly helpful in troubleshooting my backdraft problem. Thank you so much.

My experience with this company was positive. The PE stove we purchased was installed on time and professionally. They provide excellent customer service.

Horrible experience. Pricing for their heating products and ventilation are atrocious. They’re unorganized and don’t know too much about the products they sell. Just because we live in a small town doesn’t mean we don’t have access to internet and don’t shop around. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you plan to go broke. I saved more then $1000 on a heating product that was way bigger then the one they quoted me on and with 10 ft of ventilation. This place is too quick to make too much of a fast dollar from customers and don’t care not to see them come back again. That’s too bad, Im building three homes and was looking to keep the business local but because of this place’s greed I had to take my business outside of town. Word to the wise there, be aware and cautious of how you are pricing and or quoting potential return customers for you don’t know if that’s going to be your only sale or one of a few.Also do some research on the products your selling and be on the ball with competitive pricing as that will be how you’ll stay in business longer term.

These people are absolutely unprofessional and extremely disorganised!I have been waiting for over 2 months for the installation of my fireplace. Once I finally got an appointment, I had to wait again 3 weeks. The day of the installation they came walked around for 2 hours inspecting" and pretty much told me that they "could not do the job" due to roof being wet! First of all

We have purchased a gas fireplace insert, a pellet stove and a wood burning stove from Hearth and Leisure. We feel they have excellent service and great pricing. A very knowledgeable staff. We'll continue to do service with them and tell others.

Over priced, had products in stock when we went in but had to literally convince the person to sell them to us as it may they may be required for install. Simple question, do you have what we require or not?you have it do you wAnt the cash . ..if a pending job then it is reserved so not in stock.Business 101

After searching around for a wood-burning insert for our cottage fireplace for a number of years, we visited the Thompson's at Hearth and Leisure a few times to learn about the various features and options they offered. They provided clear and unhurried information to us, and ensured we had all our questions answered. Also, it was important to us to have a Canadian manufacturer available to us, which was no problem at H&L. We selected an Enviro stove, (from BC) with cast-iron front face and large air-fan, which after two seasons, has proven to have been a great choice - as it cut our winter heating costs to less than half. Al Thompson and his crew not only provided full installation and certification, but is always available by phone whenever I have questions and need advice. For our next wood-burning stove purchase, I would only go to Hearth and Leisure.
