DS Confection

Went in for croissant but walked out with three cakes for birthday. They were so patient and described each slice to us. We were looking for something light so they recommended mousse cake and strawberry tart. I also ordered a slice of cheesecake which really was heavier than the other two. I'd say they are traditional, professional, and worth the cost. Next time I'll try a classic croissant and coffee.

dS Sweet Confection is a specialties bakery in Markham. If you are looking for something special to give friends and family, this is a place to look for. Their cake is sooo delicious (great quality) and they have the best almonds croissants, its a must try (#1 seller).

We were glad to finally try this new patisserie near Markham-Stouffville hospital. The pastries are delicious, and the croissants are the best we've tried in the area. We've been back several times and will continue to visit in the future. Staff were very kind to our toddler. We also appreciate the generous hours of operation. Definite new favourite!

This bake shop is a gem! Do you know when you go to a place with high expectation and then they exceeds it? That is the place! The lady on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I loved the chocolate cake and the lemon tart, it tastes like haven. Now it is our favorite patisserie. Just go for it, you will not regret! 10/10

They are open Saturday morning after the huge snow storm! I’m so happy as I was able to get some delicious pastries. I love their high quality and flaky pastries - had the chocolate croissant and pear tart this morning. A very nice Saturday morning treat.

Canadian Master Chocolatier, Derrick Pho has been in the confectionery industry for over 30 years! His experience and stories from around the world are incredible, and it was such a pleasure talking to him :) Chef Pho is passionate, knowledgeable, and so talented at what he does - we are very excited that he finally opened his first DS Confection shop in Markham!Did you know?- Chef Pho was a baking/pastry professor, and he has taught most of the local, well-known pastry chefs in Toronto... you name them, he's taught them lol. And believe it or not, he also created the recipe for the TUXEDO CAKE you see at Costco!!The classic French pastries and desserts here are SO DELICIOUS! Everything is made fresh daily in-house, and they are not too sweet at all ^^Here are some of my favourites:Plain croissant - light, flaky and crispy! Honestly, the BEST croissant I've ever had. Croissant-making is such a timely and unbelievably meticulous process!Chocolate éclair♡ #mustorder so fresh, and the chocolate and raspberry filling inside was perfect!Tiramisu - made with 5 different liquors, so it is quite strong but it was literally love at first bite!Opera Cake - never had opera cake so fine before! The layers are so distinctive, it was really delicious!I'm so glad to finally meet the team behind DS Confection! I can't wait to be back again to try more creations!

Lovely bakery , wonderful pastries and coffee. I absolutely recommend the almond croissant. It is filling . And so tasty . Recently had the pear almond danish , which is very good and sweet . The blueberry lemon was sweet and tart . The owner is very friendly and helpful. A must try in Markham .

This little shop produces some of the best croissants I have ever had. The regular butter croissant and almond croissant are excellent 5/5. I'm not much of a sweets person but their cakes are also very good.

Kept hearing lots of great reviews so had to make our way to this tiny place hidden near the back of a tiny plaza. We tried the macarons all diff flavours, 2 types of Madeleine cookies, a tart and a couple of truffles. Figured, we are to try so why not get a variety The macarons were fantastic. The others were average but was good. Not the best I've had and was actually quite pricey for what we got. Sorry no pic of the others, didn't make it.
