7 yards? I don't think so. Try more like 4.5. Refused to make good on it. Terrible company, rude staff. Will never order from them again.

We've been there a few times now. The office staff are very efficient, and the guys outside are super helpful. We recently showed up just before they closed on a Friday to buy gravel, but when we got out to load it, it wasn't what we expected. They listened to what we thought we had bought, showed us their recommendation, and called into the office to get it all sorted for us. We felt silly, but they were super good natured about it. I bought a load of topsoil, and while it's still early days, my plants seem quite happy with it

I bought 7 yards of their garden mix" at $45 a yard to fill four 16 foot raised beds I built. Even weeds won't grow in it. Astonishing. I would have been as well off trying to grow in the clay that is native to North Saanich. I tested it with a soil testing kit when nothing would grow and it doesn't have any measurable nitrogen. Just clay with a bit of bark mixed in.Sadly

The front office young ladies have always been kind, helpful and pleasant to deal with. Yes prices have risen but so have they elsewhere. The dump guy who drivers the soil or aggregate have always been careful and helpful to load exactly where I asked them to in my trailer.A small drawback.....when it's raining or has rained, the yard is rather muddy which makes quite a mess in my sport utility vehicle.I've been going there over 20 years.

Seems like unless you’re a contractor they could care less for your business. I was told to let the person (contractor) ahead of me for a sale as the other person was on a deadline

The amount of soil that I received was completely fair. It was also consistent with my calculated requirements for my intended garden bed. My advice is to calculate your area and intended depth precisely so that you can work out the exact volume that you need, and you won't wind up feeling shorted like some of the other reviewers. I feel that their comments reflect some inexperience of their own at executing a landscaping plan and delivery. This company is literally older than dirt. The office girls were very polite and clear on the phone, and also accommodated a change in my order at the last minute. The young man that delivered my soil, Ian, was also very informative, quick, and careful with the dump truck.Overall, it was a very positive experience.

I shouldn’t even give one star. Very disappointed buying their garden mix and manure mix. Both didn’t increase soil quality to grow herbs, strawberries and other veggies. On top I called and complained they were not willing to correct the situation at, refund me or give me free yard of soil or two. I purchased 3 yards and I feel I wasted $150. I will be raising this better business. I wouldn’t recommend buying their garden soils at all.

Bought “top quality” garden soil here and it’s full of bark, weed seeds galore and not only that it’s mostly heavy clay. Literally nothing can grow in it. My parents went and got some the same week and their garden produced next to nothing. Worst soil I’ve ever had. Had to remove some, mix in good soil and still my garlic all rotted because it’s too dense and acidic. Let’s not forget the weeds in it. In a raised covered bed and more weeds than I have ever seen. Move on. Go somewhere else.

This used to be a good place to get stuff but the prices are some of the highest in town. Unlike pretty much any other yard, they don't post their prices and prices change constantly. It's always a surprise as you can call ahead of time and then when you show up, the price is different. Quality is also bad and sometimes it takes 30-45 minutes to get in and out because they forgot about you. Absolutely terrible and I try to avoid whenever I can, going to Michell's or even Victoria Landscape Gravel Mart instead where despite their high prices, at least they have decent service and there are no hidden surprises with cost.

So helpful to us - a small group of volunteer gardeners. They even threw in a small gift when they found out we are all working for free! Community supportive.
