Qing Hua Dumpling - (ChinaTown & Boul. St-Laurent)
The food is phenomenal. Very budget friendly too. Service is quick enough but the place is a bit noisy since its very popular. Highly recommend the lamb coriander, lamb shrimp and beef cheese dumplings.Edit: I visited them some days ago and was seated by a server. Then noone came to take orders!!! I waited for 20-30 min then just left as I was really hungry.Servers were preparing for next days service and chatting, singing, dancing, cleaning tables but nobody came to get order. The restaurant was almost empty and there were 4 customers in total. If you reach the end of service and can not serve just let the customer know. Don't disrespect their time please.Very disappointing!!!

Dumplings have always been one of my favorites and this place did not disappoint me. The staff were professional and friendly. The restaurant itself was very bright and clean. And the dumplings were fresh and really good for the price, which was pretty reasonable. I would go back there if I lived in Montreal.

It says a lot about the quality of the restaurant when you are provided paper plates upon being seated at a restaurant. However, the dumplings were better then the aesthetics of the location would have suggested. Having said that, the dumpling stuffing was good, not great, and the dumpling wrap is extremely thick, and tough. Would likely never go back unless the wrapper was much improved.

If you have any food allergies I wouldn’t recommend eating here.I have celiac disease and came to simply accompany my coworkers knowing there wasn’t likely anything I could eat on this menu (which is fine) but thought I’d ask if any of the items were gluten free. Seeing the server was confused I became more specific. “Is the soup thickened with flour? Does the soup have soy sauce?” She answered no, no. So I ordered the hot and sour soup and the seaweed salad.I decided to google and both are often made with soy sauce. So I was not able to eat either until I went and asked someone in the kitchen who confirmed I could eat the salad. So not only did the server just literally invent knowing what was or wasn’t in the food, she thought it better to say “you can eat that.” Instead of saying she didn’t know and that she’d ask. They made me pay even though I ate nothing. Very upsetting.I gave two stars because my collègues enjoyed their food. It took us 1.5 hours and we waited 30 for the menu.

Very amazing dumplings and super worth the price! Heard many great things about Qing Hua and they lived up to expectations. The pan fried dumplings were definitely my favourite.

Qing Hua Dumpling - (ChinaTown & Boul. St-Laurent)
As everyone knows, there's two kinds of Chinese food: 1. for the natives from East and Southeast Asia. 2. for the rest of the world. I can tell you Qing Hua is definitely in the category 2.First, other than the staff, we're the only 2 visible East Asians in the restaurant. Second, the food are definitely not authentic Chinese taste. I'm not saying it's bad. The food tastes alright. We ordered lamb/green onion dumplings, sweet and sour soup and wonton soup. We finished them all. The price is reasonable too. The service was ok. The girl who took our order was icy cold, while all other staff were quite friendly.Overall, good experience. But if you're Chinese, especially Chinese from Northern China where dumplings are the King on the dining table, you may wanna steer away from this restaurant.

The dumplings here are so good! They’re all freshly made and the quality is incredible. The price is also super reasonable for the amount that you get. There were 4 of us and we got the lamb and onion, beef and coriander, pork and leek, and pork and cabbage dumplings. The cucumber salad is also super tasty. The service is a bit slow, especially on a busy night so be ready for a ~30 minute wait time.

Tried the surprise dumpling, which is basically 15 random dumplings from different varieties (chicken, beef, some with corn, etc.). I asked for them to be split between fried and steamed. It's affordable and tasty. The service is mixed. You get servers who are very friendly and servers who look at you as if you cursed their entire lineage. Either way, worth a stop.
