Signature Optical (Eyewear) - Downtown Markham

Had a really confusing rude experience… I had two friends who recommended this place to me. First off he didn’t greet us when we walked in or pay much attention to us ( there was no one in the store btw, only us) but that was fine, was thinking maybe he wanted to give us space to look amongst ourselves. He still helped us take the glasses out after we asked which was much appreciated. We walked in wanting to purchase glasses obviously and was trying on around 6- 10 max styles of glasses ( which i don’t think is unreasonable we only kept the ones we wanted to purchase and compare out on the table and told him nicely to put the ones we didn’t want back in the drawers so we don’t make a mess)…My friend had 2 glasses out that she was deciding between. When i asked to try one more on at 4:42 pm he told me “ sorry we are closed”. And my friend by that time decided on the one she wanted to purchase already but he said again we’re closed. She wanted to take a picture so she can remember for next time and he said no pictures and grabbed the glasses from her, which is fine, we gave the glasses back and left. we respect the stores policies if no pics then no pics but really didn’t have to be that rude. Also Google says they’re closed at 6??? and while we left we drove by and we saw the store open with more customers inside. So confused to why he kicked us out…. Absolutely no idea at all why. Left the store with a head full of question marks???? First time experiencing such bad customer service. So rude.

We have been going to this store for many years now. Great store. They are super patient. Last time we went, they took the time explaining the difference between each feature with different glasses. Highly recommended

This is my go-to place for purchasing glasses (prescription and sunglasses). I've been Ivan's customer for over a decade. He is an authorized dealer for many designer brands, his store has a fantastic selection, the customer service from all of his staff is great, he offers very reasonable prices, but above all, he is extremely knowledgeable. He always has fantastic recommendations for styles that compliment your face shape and he'll tell you the advantages and disadvantages of the products. His honest comparison between brands and products really helps his customers make the right choice. Most recently, he recommended anti-glare lenses for my glasses and they have been life changing. My headaches and eye pain have significantly decreased and I can work longer on the computer. Highly highly recommend this store.Regarding some of the negative reviews, like I said I've been purchasing glasses from the owner for over 10 years and have never had an issue with insurance reimbursement. Also, when he opened his new store, I was SO grateful that he told me so that I could follow him.

Been coming to Ivan for the over 10 years for all my glasses/sunglasses/contacts needs. Super knowledgeable and won’t give you any BS to upsell or tell you an ETA on new orders.

Just bought my second pair of glasses there today. First pair were sunglasses, but now I need a regular pair. Ivan was super helpful and patient. Took the time to suggest and try on different styles. Narrowed it down to two and it took me a while to decide and finally picked the one that was similar to the ones Ivan recommended to me for my sunglasses.Store is highly recommended, will go back in the future for sure.

Just purchased my first glasses and got a nice discount comparing to other optical store. Ivan, one of the staff, is very professional and friendly. There are variety of frames that the staff picked out for me right away, unlike other optical store will take forever to find you a right pair! Staff is very efficient and know actually what I want. Most importantly the staff will sanitize/ clean the glasses before and after customer trying them. At least I was trying on about 9 to 10 pair of glasses that day, I didn’t feel any pressure from the staff or any bad customer service. I would highly recommend get your glasses here, my insurance covered all the costs and I got my glasses within few days. Great service!
