Nice place to shop at. Got what I needed with help of the people work there.

Updated from my previous rating of 1 star. Avneet, Roman, Hussein, Key, Andrea and Baybar are putting every effort to provide the best possible service.....much improvement since my last report.2021Emailed a request for bolt assembly hardware with specs provided, as well as lifting hardware with specifications. Nothing was in stock. After a phone call, and asking for an alternative to the bolt assemblies, none of the alternatives were available either. So they sent an email quote for the special order on the bolt assemblies. We replied and approved it. Other items on the email, lifting hardware were being researched and they would follow up with their findings. My partner was at Fastenal in person to pick up another order and asked for the availability of alternative bolt assemblies that was discussed in an earlier call. They had it in stock. He picked them up and canceled the order that was emailed just minutes before. When he returned to the shop, he and I called to confirmed cancelation of the order. They refused because it was apparently already in progress.Fast forward over 1 week, they have not followed up on the special order for bolt assemblies that they had refused to cancel, nor have they reported anything about the lifting hardware we requested. When we called to obtain follow up on the lifting hardware, they told me that they refuse to research and provide suggestions on any products because they weren't engineers. All products come with a grade, rating, size, colour and other specifications. I asked that based on the requested specifications, couldn't Fastenal match our request to the manufacturers specifications? The answer was NO. The woman on the phone advised that the clients need to go on Fastenal's website and make their own research , determine the part number and provide Fastenal staff members with a part numbers. She said the staff are order processors and have limited knowledge of fasteners and didn't want to take the liability and risk of suggesting the wrong product, and that the customer needs to search the product and spoon feed Fastenal staff the part numbers. Despite being told by phone as well as email that the Fastenal staff was researching the lifting hardware request, I inquired as to why they hadn't informed me this Policy" the week before

called to ask for help determining what sheave I need, person on the phone told me to just go online and find their sku number...useless

I just called and spoke to someone from this branch looking for some assistance to track down a couple replacement bolts & nuts we need for a Shurjoint coupling. I have photos of the bolt, we have measured it, we have the spec information from Shurjoint and all I wanted to do was send this information to someone there to get assistance with tracking down 2 replacements. As a fastener company I assumed they have experts or people on staff that know more about this stuff than I do. This person was not willing to give me an email address or offer any type of assistance to track parts down. Just go on the website and select it yourself I was told.No other vendor I've dealt with in 12 years has ever said that to me. No one has ever not been willing to help track something down. I certainly won't reach out to them again for anything. If staff aren't willing to go the extra mile on smaller things like this, they don't deserve bigger orders.Within 2 minutes of talking to another vendor just down the road from this branch and sending them the photos and info we had, we are on our way to pickup the parts.My advice; go elsewhere. Don't bother going here or giving these guys your business. If your like me you'd much rather support other company's that are willing to help you get your job done.

Dropped into to buy some fasterners for my boat. But as I don't have a company account they denied me service... Guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

I am very unhappy with the way the Richmond, .BC. sales office treated me.I went in to buy some washers for a bolt that I came in with. The Sales Clerk measured the bolt, went away and returned with the washers.When I went to my office to use the washers, they didn’t fit. So the next business day, I went in to exchange the washers for ones that would fit.I was told that your firm does not do exchanges.WTF, she made the mistake….Can’t you do something about this kind of thing?My firm will not be using your firm again.

Not good! Poor inventory. You can count on them not having what you want anytime. They have no plans to improve and didn’t want to hear any suggestions. Don’t bother.

There seems to only be 1 person in this location that has any knowledge of the product. Avoid frustration call ahead with their SKU because every request is met with a 'I'm not sure what that is let me check if we have that'. For the record the request was for a 1/4 - 20 tap and drill to go with it.

Great shop with anything and everything you may need to fasten. Was building some new equipment and the factory didn’t supply me with the proper amount of fasteners I needed. I searched all the usual places with no luck. The gentleman at Fastenal was quick to assist and offer recommendations for my job. Much appreciated as I think it worked out better than what the factory would have provided. Overall great experience. Will shop here in the future.

Today I was in a sizing predicament with incorrectly labeled products supplied by a competitor - Suzanne was SO helpful and I was so appreciative to have her helping me with my predicament. Customer service is obviously very important to this store, I will definitely be trying to use Fastenal more often because of today.
