Crossroads Eldercare has simply been outstanding! Sandra M. was assigned as our caseworker. She was very kind, very polite, very professional, very knowledgeable — and the positive list goes on. We couldn’t be happier with her/their immediate assistance and guidance with issues — that at times seemed overwhelming. Sandra was promptly responsive to anything and everything. Yes, this is a FREE service to the client. Reach out and you will definitely get the help you’re looking for.**My father was successfully admitted to an assisted living facility within days of my initial inquiry to Crossroads Eldercare.**

Navigating the eldercare maze can be confusing and scary. Having Crossroads Eldercare as consultants to answer questions, point you in the right direction, and stay involved until you have found a good solution for your loved one is invaluable. I worked with both Elizabeth and Sandra over the span of many months when my Mother, who had been living independently, needed more assistance and support. Both were very responsive, knowledgeable and compassionate. I am thankful every time I visit my mom at her new home" that we found the right place for her."

Crossroads Eldercare was instrumental in helping me find a memory care facility for my parent, who was moving back to Michigan from another state. The team provided me options of facilities to tour and interview in preparation for the move, and also explained different financial services available that I was not aware of. I wouldn't have been able to find a place as quickly without the industry knowledge, follow-up, and compassion that Crossroads offered to me.

I have been working with Kathie Higgins for the last three months. I do not know what I would have done without her and her guidance with placing my husband into the right place after my husband's diagnosis of 100% disability with Agent Orange. I truly believe God put her and Crossroads in my path as they are so brilliant and compassionate and take ALL of one's needs into consideration - the dollars you have to spend as they are NOT going to send you to a place that is way out of one's budget. Crossroads is a non profit and the compassion and honestly that comes from all employees goes WAYbeyond I could ever have dreamed of. Thank you, Kathy, for checking up on me once a week! My prayers were answered whenI met you. This is the BEST agency in Grand Rapids remember this is free to all.Sincerely,Judy Van Zanten

Our need for assisted living was swift and unexpected. In our mid to late 70s, we were active and independent. I was still running a thriving business full time. Although my husband was increasingly showing signs of memory loss, it was nothing that couldn't be managed. Then without warning and just before Christmas, I suffered a pulmonary embolism that, coupled with pneumonia, left me with a progressive lung disease that made itself more evident every day. In mid December of the following year, I realized I couldn't manage us on my own any longer. My husband was officially diagnosed with early-onset dementia and I no longer had the staying power to even cook a meal. So we packed up, sold our home, I retired and we moved into an apartment at Porter Hills Village on March 1st.It wasn't as easy as it sounds. We had never once considered we might find ourselves in this position. We always said we would live in our home until we died. At the moment we decided we had to make our last life change, I was clueless as to the options available. Google simply listed one facility after another. The sheer number was overwhelming and calls for information elicited sales pitches all making similar promises. The terminology describing the levels of care they provided was like a foreign language. I had to move forward and fast, but I had no idea how.Luckily, one day I found and clicked on a link to an organization I'd never heard of before called Crossroads Eldercare. I left a message and, amazingly, someone called me back! The person on the other end of the line was Sandra, and she became my guide through the maze. She knew the ropes. Her knowledge and suggestions steered us here -- to a place we never expected to be but now feel blessed to be. Sandra and Crossroads didn't so much do the legwork as provide knowledgeable guidance along with moral support that helped us make the right decisions from where to move to companies and organizations that could help us get there. Crossroads had the answers -- freely shared and spot on. We are forever grateful.

Crossroads Eldercare has been a life changer for my brother. As he needed more care, it was difficult finding a good fit ...until Crossroads was recommended to us. Kathy listened intently to our needs and concerns and kept at it until she found the right place at the right time. Before, during and after, we felt understood. She also was able to recommend amazing help during the moving process. These decisions are hard and change requires patience, but Crossroads was in it with us. I recommend without hesitation.

I needed to place a 97 yr. old mother with her disabled son with Alzheimers. Julie Johnson at Crossroads was invaluable! Not only didn't she steer me to locations that had Alzheimers care and that had openings for mother too, but she totally understood the situation I was in as their only caretaker. She was truly a treasure!! Julie, I hope you're recognized by your company for spectacular service to your clients. I'm telling anyone who will listen.

Around mid May, a friend of mine told me about Crossroads. When I called them, I spoke with Julie Johnson, who was a tremendous help and a wealth of information to help me look for senior housing for my brother. She went out of her way to help me sort things out and listen to my stories. I can't imagine finally finding what I did without her help. She guided me and suggested things but never pushed me at all in any one direction, which was great. I visited some places she suggested and found a great place for my brother. Crossroads is an amazing business that was so helpful. I would more than highly suggest getting in touch with them if you have a need to help a relative or friend find some different housing options. Once again, I can't imagine getting done what I needed done without Julie and the support of her staff. Thank you so very much!
