Olives and Bananas Wool Shop
One of my favourite local shops in town! My first experience walking in was in complete awe as I looked around at all the different yarns, wools, and inspiringly beautiful decor! I was greeted by Amy, the owner, and we got to know each other. She let me know she was just opening shop and still under renovations. She definitely knows her yarns and arts! Plus she is super talented! Since then I come there for all my fibre needs and absolutely love it! I leave inspired and excited to create every visit. Definitely recommend if you are a knitter/crocheter/fibre artist! You will not be disappointed! Social media is always updated with announcements and info. Wonderful variety of wool brands and tools.

Had a distatesful experience where my own service was fine but overheard another customer being treated rather rudely by the staff member. How uncomfortable. I'll shop elsewhere for now.I'd like to also mention this location is not wheelchair friendly as the space inside the store is cluttered and not navigable for someone with mobility issues, or a stroller.

I visited this store in July 2022 after the mask mandates were lifted. We were so excited to buy some good quality yarn because my daughter and I both love to knit and crochet. We were met at the door by the store owner who was immediately visibly upset by us and gestured very rudely for us to immediately put on a mask. Due to the fact that the mandatory mask mandates had been lifted we did not have masks with us. The owners was being so rude and unwelcoming that she did not offer to give us masks or even suggest where we could find a mask, given that it was the only store in the area that required masks to enter. We would have been happy to wear the masks but it was very clear that she did not want us in her store and our money was not good in her establishment.I would NOT recommend this store to anyone.

Hands down one of the very best little yarn shops in Canada. Great selection, service, attention to detail, focus on indie and Canadian yarn designers/dyers, and Amy is knowledgeable about all the products she carries.

I appreciate that this business cares about the health and wellbeing of our community. I appreciate the personalized service and care that goes into helping each customer find what they would like to buy in a way that suits individualized needs. The curbside pick up is especially helpful!

I cannot say enough about my love for this shop! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and gorgeous yarns and felt. Amy has gone above and beyond to make the shop COVID safe, which I truly appreciate as the mama of a medically fragile kiddo. Love love love this shop!

Fast, efficient service. My modular knitting needle fell apart 3 times in 2 hours. In absolute tears I ordered a one-piece circular needle. It only took 3 hours to receive an email saying my order was ready! Compared to big box" stores in town which can take up to 6 weeks (for stuff that is on the shelf!) this was amazing! I cannot wait for Ontario to open up do I an actually go in and look at and touch the wool and yarn."

I love Olives & Bananas! This place is a fantasy land for fibrephiles. Not only is Amy exceptionally knowledgeable about yarn and fibres, but her creativity is inspiring and her product selection is phenomenal. This store is definitely a gift to the fibre artists in the region. I recommend it to everyone.

I was in the store this winter and was warmly greeted by the owner. She stopped everything she was doing and helped my sister and I find what we were looking for. Very knowledgeable and informative! Love her beautiful store and will definitely be going back.
