A diamond in the rough. You won’t expect a place looking like this being so great! Sea food is exceptionally fresh (sea food and meat is local!) and the fries are amazing, crisp and made with love. The staff is warm and welcoming. A must go.

The six of us drove up from Halifax for the weekend to get away for a bit and stopped in for lunch after a trip to Hopewell rocks.The railway diner reminded us of the Big stop from my area (a community fav) so we agreed to give them a go.Bottom line, hands down greatest service and most amazing appetizers and lunch options. More than enough to handle for all six of us to share and take home.Overall a memorable experience in a new town.Thank you Austin and crew for your prompt and thoughtful service during our stay and making the stop a 5 STAR time for not only myself, my friends and family!!

I've had a sit down meal and ordered take out from this business multiple times. Overall the food is decent and the waitstaff is always pleasant. I will return to try more items from the menu and would recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a close to homemade food.

The Railway Diner was more than just a great meal. The fish and chips were amazing. Delicate, tender and tasty. But the service was outstanding. Our waitress was so personable. She took interest in our travels. She smiled and laughed and joked with us. When paying, my husband spread his coins on the table and she spotted the pennies that were left over from a previous visit to Canada. Knowing they didn’t use pennies anymore, I was surprised that they are now in demand as collectibles. She told us how she used them as mosaic tiles now. I’ll never forget the smile when I offered them to her. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food, fair price, great friendly service. Tucked away attached to a gas station like a hidden Gem. The fish and fried clams are amazing. Coleslaw and tartar sauce are on point. If you want a good feed without the frills and be greeted with a friendly smile a d genuine kindness hit this spot.

Home cooking here for the win! Ordered the mashed potato bowl, served with popcorn chicken, cheese, gravy and corn… have it with a side or coleslaw!

Never recommend this place. There was only 3 tables busy in the diner when we arrived. We waited 15 min to order another 15 min for our drinks and they had to ask again what it was that we ordered. Clams were tough and over cooked brought fries instead of sweet potato fries. Was given our bill of $51 that was not ours $12.69 more than we should have and still had wrong items on bill. There were 2 people who came in for takeout burgers after us but got there food first and they returned after going to their car stating there order was wrong and had to wait again for there food. They got there second correct order before we had gotten our food. Recommend hiring more staff and write down your orders and save us all some wasted time. Very unhappy customer and no discount given when asked or offered!

Absolutely toxic environment . Terrible dinning experince .The waitress there was so rude and disrespectful.No manners , absolutely no conception of boundaries .RUDE RUDE RUDE .I hope the new owners CLEAN HOUSE.
