What a rad beach! We came here to check out the surf. Very cool vibe, sandy beach with a decent beach break. Lots of surf board rentals here and lessons as well. There is also a couple food trucks.

super nice beach because it’s not too crowded but i find the tide came up a little earlier than expected which made it harder to throw around a frisbee or volleyball without getting in the water. also a lot of rocks. Luckily they have parking, change rooms and a bathroom !

A very nice beach close to the city. Good waves for surfing, change rooms and washroom facilities. Lifeguards on duty at one section. There are often surf schools set up in the parking lot that rent boards for $20 a day, wetsuit for $20 a day (pretty much needed for any extended stays in the water) and also offer lessons. If they aren’t around, there is a surf shop up the hill that has everything you need. Big beach and never really busy. You can always find a spot to be alone, if that is what you prefer. The sounds and smells here will help fix all that ails you. There can be rip currents and offshore currents, so be aware. And if you are visiting, and not familiar with the North Atlantic... it is very cold... except when hurricanes go by.

Beautiful expansive beach with large waves most days. Heard that lots of surfers come from all over to surf here. Beachfront rentals nearby too. Great spot to spend the day.

My favourite beach in the province. Nice long beach with good wave and good breeze that no mosquito or horsefly bother you at all. Sunset at the beach is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is certainly rocky when you first walk down from the boardwalk, but if you walk further down near the water during low tide, there will be some nice patches of sand. This place can get very crowded in some sunny days and watch out the parked cars close to the road.

Foggy when we were there but water was warm. If you like jumping waves or using a board to ride the waves, it is fun. Lots of rocks to get to the sand beach. There are showers and water to clean your feet. Lots of parking.

I know this is a good place to surfing. The waves are high. The land is made of stones, not sand. You have to take your sandal. The weather is warm around 2 p.m., but the sea breeze is cold after 4 p.m. The sea water was still cold and some people were swimming. It's about 40 minutes away from downtown Halifax and I think it's a good place to heal.

This is such a beautiful beach! Absolutely mesmerizing to watch the ocean waves crashing on the sandy shores. Not surprising to see people surfing here!Handy tip - do yourself a favour and come here on a clear day for sunset. The pictures you'll get are simply gorgeous - no matter how good a photographer you are!Ample parking and soft sandy beaches make this a definite must visit beach in Nova Scotia!

This beach is absolutely gorgeous — so cinematic and truly is like out of a dream. I am a wedding photographer and get so excited when couples want to have their session here.Surfers come here for great waves, photographers for breathtaking sunsets and everyone else to spend time with their families - tall grass, boardwalks, sand and rocks - there is something here for everyone.

An absolutely magical place to visit and watch the waves crash against the beach. It's foggy and mystical here in the fall, so not as busy as during the summer months when people flock to this spot for some cool air. There's plenty of parking, just know it isn't paved but has been maintained and kept fairly level.Keep your eyes peeled here for the sandpipers hiding between the rocks, and enjoy watching them run away from the incoming waves.
