Just an FYI: if you plan to purchase an expensive stamp, make sure before you bid, you request to have it authenticated.There’s a reason they include this option on their website, even though they say everything is checked. If you trust their expertise, you could possibly spend $1400 only to be disappointed once you purchase and send it in for certification, only to be disappointed when it comes back as an expensive $200 faulty filler. Their response is: should have requested authentication..When you buy for a ‘reputable’ auction house, this should NEVER happen. Just an FYI

I have dealt with this fine company, and with its predecessors, ever since I moved to Ottawa in 1976. I still remember the exciting auctions conducted by Ian Kimmerly on Sparks Street in the 1990’s which would sometimes spill out onto the street in the summer months. I still possess many intriguing purchases from that period! I have also consigned material to this auction house and have never been disappointed. The staff are highly organized, pleasant and helpful and are of the highest integrity.
