Leaside Animal Clinic

My dog, Bowser, was a patient at the Leaside Animal Clinic for many years. We did switch to a different clinic late in his life, but it was only so he could continue being treated by a specific veterinarian.Bowser's veterinary care wasn't something I took lightly. I actually continued taking him to the Leaside Animal Clinic even after we moved to a different part of Toronto because the doctors and staff at the clinic are all great. I always felt comfortable whenever he was in their care and I'd recommend the Leaside Animal Clinic to any pet owner who lives nearby.

Leaside animal clinic is always so helpful and goes above and beyond whenever we bring our puppy in.We’ve been bringing our family’s dogs here for over 20 years and have always had nothing but good things to say. They have provided exceptional care to us for all 3 of our dogs lives from puppies until the end of their lives. Whenever there was an issue they were able to see us immediately and fit us in whenever. They aren’t just about money they are focused on giving you and your pet the best care possible within a reasonable price range that you can afford.I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of a new vet or who is new to pet ownership.

After experiences with 5 different vets over the years, Leaside Animal Clinic is by far my favourite. Staff are very friendly and personable, as is the Veterinarian who can explain things in very plain terms. They genuinely care about their 4 legged patients and it shows. 10/10 and happy to recommend to anyone.

I started taking my puppy there at the beginning of this year (2020). I was getting decent service regarding basic checkups and shots, until my dog had an accident and broke a few toes. I feel the situation was handled poorly and that I was ill-advised in waiting before taking my dog to the emergency hospital. They were also charging me for services I deemed just as poor, such as bad blurry x-rays. Actually the worst part was when I called to discuss these issues, the owner, Dr. Weintrop started talking down to me and was offensive in her tone, even suggesting that I cared more about money than my dog's wellbeing, which couldn't be further from the truth. This is no way to treat a customer so I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on and I would advise anyone to do the same. To be fair, the other vets there offered good service.

I used to bring my pet there but they made too many mistakes for me to go back. They try to scare you to make you spend more and more, to make a lot of useless tests. I failed for it the first few times and never once, you get a call back to explain the test results. Then they told me my pet would die if I would not put him on their brand (Hills) for the rest of his life and I can't feed him anything else at all. It costed a fortune, and my pet did not get better. I've done that for years and there was a lot of red flags that I should have seen earlier. They tried to tell me my cat had cancer, when he only had abscess. Another time, one vet inserted a thermometer in my pet's rectum without any lube. The cat screamed and tried to hide, poor thing... The vet said it didn't hurt my pet... Should we try on her to check? That was awful..Finally, the event that was a real eye opener for me is when I saw they treated their customers differently. I forgot my wallet once and asked them if I could pick up the food and come back later to pay. The staff said no, which made no sense to me because she allowed other people to do it before. I left and never came back. Please do your own research and don't believe everything you're told by that clinic. They take advantage of your love for your pet to make you pay!!

Excellent staff. My puppy was having a nose bleed. An employee from inside ran to check her and took her temperature outside. She was really empathetic. 100% recommended.

We recently switched vets and started taking our puppy to Leaside Animal Hospital. Dr Edwards has been absolutely fantastic with Murphy since we made the switch. The level of detail and research into her diagnosis have been amazing, and we have been delighted with the level of care and the treatment plans we have made with our dog. Dr Edwards definitely goes the extra mile, and the love that Murphy has for her is a testament to the treatment he receives.

Dr. Edwards did an incredible job with our two cats - she made them feel comfortable and cared for during their assessment while offering expert advice to keep them healthy. Highly recommended!

Super friendly, welcoming staff. We have been seeing Dr. Ruth Weintrop and Dr. Natallia Rutchanka for a number of years now, and recently brought our new puppy in to join this clinic because we feel so safe having our dogs in their care. These two are clearly passionate and educated, and will always tell you exactly what you need to know without any of the guesswork or doubt. Thanks for taking such good care.

It was my first visit with my cat at this clinic. My appointment was at 4 p.m. but I sat there until 4:45 p m. And finally asked what was causing the delay. I was told that there was an emergency x-ray that had to be done on an animal. I told them it would have been helpful if they had kept me informed about the reason for the delay.They did apologize for the delay.
