Power went out at my home shortly after 12 noon. I called GSU to report the problem. I had to hold for a few minutes as I understand they were dealing with power outages in other areas. From the time I spoke to a representative at GSU to the problem being rectified was approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. I so appreciate the excellent service I received. Thank you.

Their field supervisor is great. I get the impression this is a very top heavy" organization. After a premeditated relocation of an overhead service for a new building I was putting up they proceeded to decline the building permit submission because I guess they forgot they moved it. Costing 2 weeks of delays. Worrying that they don't keep track of their infrastructure but what do I know I just foot the bill."

Can I leave “zero” stars? Apparently not, forced to leave one star. Terrible customer appreciation. Customer for 30 years and always pay. Away from home for extended period and receive a letter that threatens to cut services or demand a security deposit. Typical behaviour from a company which holds a monopoly. You’d lose the majority of your customer base if there were an alternative provider. Perhaps check the records of a customer before submitting such a notice. Shame on you GSU

Moved back to the city October 1, 2020 and just today (Dec 10th) received my 1st electricity bill. This is the ONLY utility company I have been a customer of that I have had such slow reporting. Especially in this day and age!Then I attempted to register for an online account with them. Followed the directions precisely and it said the info does not match. So I call customer service and she tells me to try and enter the dollar amount of the current charges, whereas the website states I must enter total amount due". This still does not work.I do not have faith that anyone at GSU has any idea what they are doing."

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I have to say that my experience has been excellent. The key, as I have found, is spending a little time talking to the staff. They are super knowledgeable and can help with any number of issues, from better understanding your bill to accessing energy savings programs and rebates. All my interactions have been great.

Absolutely not impressed with the amount of outages in the last month . Having a senior at home who requires oxygen 24/7 and not being able to supply him with that oxygen without power is becoming ridiculous. By far the worst service I have experienced for hydro in Ontario

Highly unreliable power...significant and frequent unscheduled downtime. High rates.Two years later, we received 32 hours notice of a 7 hour midday outage to update infrastructure. They clearly knew this work was planned for weeks at least, they just didn't bother to tell anyone, for which there is zero excuse.In most jurisdictions this would be done at night to minimize disruption, not here, where GSP doesn't want to have to pay overtime rates.We need to re-nationalize these utility monopolies. What a joke.

charges 2% to use a credit card, hours are horrible (closed weekends and closes at 4:25pm weekdays) and they have the nerve to charge a massive deposit regardless of your creditworthiness. Must be nice to have no competition ! Wouldn't survive a day in the real, competitive world.

Barely used the water all month but somehow my water bill has DOUBLED . I feel like i'm being constantly scammed by this city. Not even joking ... The amount of water i actually used all month ,would of been cheaper to just used bottled water.Not even getting started with my power bill which has doubled as well.It sickens me,because I can't even afford to buy groceries.
