Traveling across Ontario on my way to Edmonton. I wanted a home cooked meal. Not the fast food chain food or a convenience store. Unfortunately covid wiped out alot of these private owned mom and pop places. Quackery at first Glace looked like a take out restaurant. I turned around and I'm glad I did. Great food, fast service, pleasant staff and a relaxing atmosphere. There's lots of room for a large group or family to have a great meal.

I had the taco salad. It was tasty and just the right sized portion. The tortilla chips were on the side, so they didn't get soggy. The salsa and sour cream were also served on the side and generous portions. I'm dairy free so it was a nice alternative since I only had to ask to have no cheese on it.

We stopped here for lunch today, halfway through our drive from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay. It was a lovely place to stop and have a bite of lunch. Fast and friendly service and wonderful food. Highly recommended.

Great little place to stop and grab a bite to eat. The food is very tasty and their portions are generous at such reasonable prices. I love stopping here on our way up to Cedar Lake!

Ordered the fish and chips which were pretty good. However, the attendant seemed irritated that we were ordering. She did not seem happy to have our business. Also note there is no dine-in option. There are picnic tables outside. The washroom facilities are for paying customers only, which I understand.

If you are passing through Vermilion Bay, swing into Quackers. Probably the best food this town has for home cooking. The town is really struggling in the last 5 years so don't expect high dining, but do give them a shot. The food is flavorful and fresh.

We stopped in for lunch Wednesday, the restaurant was packed, but we managed to find seats. Surprisingly, the service was quick for as busy as they were at the time. The food was excellent, hot, tasty and portion size was really large. Homemade soup was delicious, I had a beer with lunch, fresh and cold. Very friendly staff and we'll be back. Thanks.
