A wonderful school with great staff:) I've had the pleasure of teaching at Island Montessori for the past ten years and my children have attended both the preschool and kindergarten programs.

Island Montessori School is an amazing place. Our son has grown so much through his experience at Island Montessori. The staff are the most caring, wonderful individuals that truly love children. They are warm and accepting and will bend over backwards to ensure your child needs are met. We drive over 10 kms to get to school and it's worth every drop of gas. Highly recommend this magical place for all children!

My family and I were dedicated to finding the best care in Victoria for my 3 year old son - and we are very blessed to have found it here. We drive 30 minutes, from James Bay, to bring our son here because it is the best care on the island.I can't rate his teachers highly enough, Miss Pam and Miss Manal are exceptionally dedicated and should honestly win awards. They treat the children as if they were their own. Linda, the manager, keeps the school running very smoothly and is also extremely devoted and wonderful.Although my son was very scared to attend school, the teachers were very welcoming and understanding. They made me feel at ease during the transition phase (which felt long, believe me!) and were very patient with the entire process.Now my son has many friends in school and is very social - where he used to be the opposite, and was afraid of other children. I strongly believe the staff at Island Montessori have facilitated and encouraged his growth. Both of my children have attended Island Montessori for a few years now so I can say with certainty that this is a very professionally run preschool that has amazingly wonderful teachers and staff. The care is reliable, consistent and organized with new themes and activities regularly. The children have a great, nature themed play area and the classrooms are neat and orderly - if you have messy and wild kiddos like me, you will be pleasantly surprised at the skills they are taught here while still having the best time! The staff really connect with all the children and understand each of their unique needs. We love this school and I can't recommend them enough!

I was introduced to Island Montessori when I met my wife a teacher there for over 12 years. I have watched how they have taken children with developmental disabilities and woven them into the school with other children by developing special programs for these children. I love watching our daughter treat and see everyone as an equal. She has attended the school for 4 years and she is now set to take on regular kindergarten at her catchment school. They have done a wonderful job preparing her for success in the the school district. I highly recommend this school before your kids head to public schools.

We couldn't have found a better school for our son and are so grateful to the staff and kids who make everyday a safe and fun learning environment. Our son has grown so much. He is just a sponge for knowledge and life. The teachers really are special. One thing I love about Island Montessori is the staff have been there for years and all the teachers get to know all the kids, regardless of which class they are in. Great community feel.

Our daughter has attended Island Montessori for the past two years. It has been a wonderful experience. We continue to be amazed by how much our child has flourished in this environment. The staff are so caring and our daughter loves going to school each day!

I have volunteered at Island Montessori for over 10 years, helping with the Library and Scholastic book orders as well as advising regarding the Special Needs students. I was a Special Education and primary teacher in the public schools until I retired. I chose to volunteer at IMHS because of their acceptance of and provisions for Special Needs children. I am amazed at the services provided to all children, helping them develop the skills necessary to succeed in school to the fullest extent possible. Speech, Physical and Occupational therapy are provided as required to the children. The staff are extremely well-trained and experienced in dealing with all children, treating each one with dignity, respect and love. Parents also receive the same caring treatment. I do not know of a better situation for young children to grow, learn and prepare for success in their later school years.

We are grateful that both our sons had the opportunity to attend IMHS. Our boys are very different, so they are an excellent example of how the teachers have an ability to help all children grow and be their best. The social learning and practice allowed our boys to enter kindergarten confident and ready to build real friendships. They have both learned a work ethic that has built their sense of self worth, and they have learned that they can take on challenges, with a passion. And of course 'the magic' that each and every teacher brings has brought fun, and happiness to their lives. I have already recommend IMHS to many families, and I will keep doing so. Every child would benefit here.
