Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel

John and Norma Lienkaemper and their girls, Diane and Lisa, were prominent figures in my childhood. While I don't know the story of how Norma and my mother met and became subsequent friends, they did remain friends until Norma's passing. Every Easter egg hunt photo from my youth included a photo with Diane and Lisa. John was also the emcee at my wedding and my older sister's weddings.This is why my family's experience working with the Lienkaemper Chapel was disappointing. To be clear, this is not a reflection of Gary Trick. Gary happened to be on vacation during my mother's funeral service in June of 2022. My criticism of the newly corporate owned, Lienkaemper Chapel, is the lack of compassion shown by an employee during a family's most vulnerable time.My parents were married for close to 59 years. Our family was distraught. We scheduled my mother's service on a day that would be close to 90 degrees. I was disappointed to interact with an employee who responded to my inquiry about air conditioning with it's broken and there's nothing we can do about it." No compassion. We seemed to be met

One small issue with number of death certificates we ordered but quickly corrected.

Not a good experience , first of all only one elderly gentleman came out with no help, then taking her out my front door I thought he was going to drop her, then I was told she would be ready in 2 or maybe 3 days ,after waiting 5 days we called and she had not been taken care of yet, then after 6 days we were able to pick up the remains ,but no death certificates. So please think about where you take your loved ones .

Our family is deeply saddened by the service we’ve received for my Grandmother’s funeral services. They did the bare minimum of what was required during the process. We paid for services that were left to us to complete ourselves and were not shown compassion.We have known the Lienkaemper family for decades; and know they’d be ashamed to see what the new owners are sullying their names with this new reputation.Even after the services we have come to find out that the headstone has not been ordered by them 6 months past paying and asking them to do so. We had to find this out on our own as my Grandpa was there to view a headstone that had never been ordered. What a slap to our grieving Grandfather and utter disrespect.

My grandmother passed in June. Our family had a relationship with the Leinkaemper’s and their funeral home seemed like an obvious choice. Gary was supposed to be our point of contact person but he was on vacation. Instead we were left with the B Team, a team a downright nincompoops who seemed like they were hired the day before, a group of kindergarteners could have given more support than these people. The person who was in charge, a sweaty man wearing a gold chain who’s name was so irrelevant I don’t remember it, told us there wasn’t going to be air conditioning available for the funeral. It was a warm Ontario weekend and they expected us to sit inside, in the heat, with our grandmother in a casket. We pushed them and eventually they acquiesced to the addition of a couple fans (thanks a lot!). During the service, the employees have little advice and we were left on our own. We were glad to leave the chapel and put it all behind us as. Until 6 months later and my grandmother’s grave still has no headstone. My grandfather went to ask and they claimed to have forgotten to order it. Our experience here has become a stain on the already difficult time of losing the matriarch of our family. We will most definitely not be using their services again.

High praise and recommendation for Lienkaemper chapel in Ontario. They respectfully, ethically, and professionally helped our family provide a beautiful and meaningful service for our mother. They were there for us from the moment my mom passed away, with the cremation, and a finally with a memorable service in Ontario at their chapel. They helped us stay within our budget while paying attention to every important detail. Everything was beautiful, they really went the extra mile for us. Much gratitude to Gary Trick and Gary Meeker from the Stephens family!

I can not express in words the caring and compassion that was given to our family during a very difficult time! Gary Trick and Lienkaemper’s staff was very professional from giving our love one her last ride, making arrangements, viewing scheduling, ordering certificates, posting notices, and walking us through the whole process during the day of the service! They were all so amazing and I appreciated everything they did to help us get through this! Thank you again for the wonderful service you provided the family of Betty Irons!

If I can help even only one person when they are looking for compassion and understanding as far as in a funeral home, I would 110% recommend Lienkaemper's Funeral Chapel. In 2014 my brother passed away. Lienkaemper's were there for us. In 2020 I Iost my mom. They were so respectful and kind. Just recently, (Feb.26, 2022) I lost my husband...I knew exactly who to turn to, to help ease the pain and the confusion of how to take care of the difficult matters at hand. Gary, Carrie & Julie are warm & sensitive to your feelings and their help exceeded any expectations that I may have had.Please know...Your loved one will be taken care of in the most beautiful and respectful way.
