Guildwood Lighting & Fireside

From our first visit to Guildwood Lighting & Fireside store right through the completed installation, Guildwood was excellent to do business with! We had almost given up hope of ever replacing our original 25 year old gas log open fireplace with a modern enclosed gas unit. Our fireplace was trimmed with black marble and we were told by two other local fireplace retailers that all of the mantel & marble would have to be removed & replaced" as there was no way to keep it with a new install....as well as "we would never be able to match the marble" with new pieces. Our initial contact at Guildwood was "Richard" who is also a gas fitter & installer! Richard was very knowledgeable & professional. He advised us that both he & "Joel" (owner of Guildwood) would be coming out to our home to inspect & advise on the new install. Upon seeing the existing unit to be replaced

Met Joel through a situation where another person said they cant fix my double sided fireplace. Joel and his team came and worked very professionally and now my two fireplace looks brand new, They were honest very efficient, Timely very dependable. I will recommend them to anyone who is in trouble with fireplaces without any hesitation.

Over 25 years ago, we purchased set of glass doors and screen for our fireplace in London. Soon after that we moved to Mississauga, Ont. The house we purchased had a fireplace, but no screen. So we called Joel, and he sent his people down to put the same one in as he did in London. A few years went by and we moved to another house that actually had the same fireplace screen, but in a gold color rather than the black color that we liked from our last house. So we called up Joel to order a new one, but he said ours could be sanded and painted. On his way to his cottage, he stopped and picked up our screen, took it back to his shop, and returned it, painted black, looking just like new, a couple of months later. This year, I was looking for a little insulation to stop a little smoke darkening the brick above one of the doors. I called several fireplace stores in Mississauga, but nobody seemed to know, or maybe didn't want to be bothered, to help me solve this little issue. So, I called Joel to see if he knew what I could do to solve this issue. He had the insulation that I needed, he put it in a box and shipped it to me. We love our fireplace in the winter, and we love the the service that that Joel and his team at Guildwood lighting & Fireside provide to their customers. In my view, you will not find better customer service anywhere!

The number 1 factor for us when making any major purchase is after sales service. Guildwood truly sets themselves apart in this regard.We purchased our fireplaces 5 years ago and know that we can contact Richard, Joel and Brian with an issue today and can expect the same level of excellent service that we received when the units were first installed. Richard in particular goes out of his way to ensure that he walks us through the root cause of an issue and how he plans to address it. Guildwood helped us with our fireplace in our new house build.Although we had a few speed bumps along the way due to constrcution delays, Joel and Richard worked hard to make sure we were completly satisfied with our custom 3 sided fireplace in our new home. I highly recomend them.
