It used to be an awesome league, I was part of it for 10 years for multiple sports but post pandemic they have been pretty awful, not giving us back any money, having crazy schedules, not caring about masks or vaccine mandates. They also have gone a lot more expensive. There are cheaper leagues out there with more of a community sense.

Been playing dodgeball with ossc for years...gotta say the organization is really going down hill. Last season we played the same two teams over and over again even though there was over 8 teams in the pool. This season they got new balls and they are just falling apart. The skin isn't even attached to the foam. The balls hit the wall, polp down on the ground and don't even roll cause the skin is just so loose.

I've played with OSSC for a while now and the decrease in value is noticeable. It's not a horrible league but there are better options out there - 2.5/5 starsPros-Good facility locations-Positive and fun players-Good onsite coordinatorsCons-Lack of organization-Poor value/Comparatively expensive-Non-existent communication-Previous Covid precautions were nothing more than lip service-The few sports equipment they do provide is in disrepair

Because of the compact season this year, they added Monday games to our Wednesday-only league as well as double-headers from 8-11pm. Some week we have three games. This isn't what we signed up for. We all have lives, family and jobs and there is a reason why all of us chose the Wednesday-only league.I emailed OSSC about it and they sent a rude email back and basically said you and your team will just have to deal with it. I know they jam packed the schedule with extra games in the week just so they wouldn't have to give us a rebate. They also ignore are calls to their emergency contact when the lights weren't working.

The price used to be good for the quality, but unfortunately I have to recommend avoiding the OSSC league in most cases, a lack of referee is not a problem, some adults need one to play a fun and honest game. I would suggest a more expensive league outside of OSSC.

I personally think this is a really great sports league. Me and my friends have played softball and volleyball with OSSC for the past year. As with anything there are always pros and cons.Pros: easy to navigate schedule for upcoming games, email reminders for games, competition is pretty much evenly matched on skill level, they always call me back if I leave a message on their voicemail.Cons: late games that can go until 11:00 (especially for softball in the summer)- not ideal if you work early mornings, volleyball games that are located in Gatineau (not ideal at all), and recently signing up it’s been really hard to actually get into a league for volleyball with out getting on a waitlist (not sure why space is suddenly limited?).Overall I would recommend as it’s a great way to be apart of a team and have fun, just a few things that need to be worked out with the organization to make it run a bit smoother and more accessible for people to sign up.

This league is actually a complete joke. I’m not sure where our registration money goes as they barely have someone from OSSC actually there at the games. It’s basically run by the players. The staff that do show up never understand the rules and have no idea what they are doing. Teams make up rules as they go and there’s no structure at all.The rules for the league are a complete joke as well. Truly disappointed in this as I was very excited to play. Won’t be returning to this mess. Save your money and okay somewhere else

Being able to find a social and active community is awesome. But the way this company operates makes me question what my registration fees are used for. I first started using OSSC in 2011, but I desperately wish there are more alternatives at this point. This past fall my team has had so many issues with scheduling. Whether it be OSSC failing to hit publish to make our league live, or miscommunication with the facility leading to games being cancelled without warning. I’ve had to make multiple calls and send emails for basic league administration to take place.I understand mistakes happen, and have tried to give OSSC the benefit of the doubt. However, getting responses from the league has been an extreme challenge. When we do receive follow ups, it is full of inaccuracies and excuses. There has been no accountability from the league despite multiple errors. As a result of their practices and errors, we have lost out on a game this season and received no compensation. On top of their frustrating business practices, their website is convoluted and difficult to navigate. It barely functions on mobile and there is no associated app. For a league that’s been around as long as they have and the fees they charge, I expect a lot better.Being able to find these activities and leagues is a great service. The way OSSC delivers it is overpriced and leaves you frustrated and disappointed.

As an organization, the OSSC provides many sports and services for the community that helps fill in a need. They have access to a number of central facilities and time slots. They have an automated system that helps coordinating easier. However, from these basic building blocks, they stumble to adequately facilitate and nurture fun, friendly and respectful leagues that adequately accommodate the changing nature that is the COVID-19 pandemic. They do not instill adequate public safety measures nor ensure that their own rule sets take into account on-going COVID-19 absences. In instances where this does occur, they leave such vagueness in the rules that punish teams rather than give leniency. Instead, they penalize teams for absences and related injuries beyond the control of a team. All in all, the club is not worth investing your time or energy into as they clearly do not want to foster any real sense of community or respect.

Honestly used to be a great organization but post pandemic they've cut back on many essentials. Vaccine check is sparse / non existent and many games lack coordinators. Players are left to organize their own game, gather their own equipment and referee themselves. Very disappointing to see OSSC cutting corners to save a dollar, it shows in the final product.
