I love this swimming pool. One of the best for lane swimming. It’s really big and popular! So you’re gonna find many ppl there, watch out while you’re swimming since you may hit other swimmers. Get your own lock or quarters to use the locker

Love VAC but lane swimmers need to pay more attention to each other. They need to NOT swim with their eyes closed and if they want to pass someone, make sure there is enough room to pass someone in the other lane. I was swimming there on Friday night and got ELBOWED in the head. I was swimming in my own lane. I, now, have a concussion. Swimmers - please pay attention to one another!

I'm here for a swim race. Pretty clean deck and water, can be used as 50 meter or 25 meter pool, air quality better than most pools, and very big but old facility

This amazing facility isn't being shared properly with the community. It a very elitist. Kinda looks down on people who need the space more than people who use it for enjoyment. So I think they could do a better job here offering services rather than trying to shift the problem to places like the round house and gathering place. Super disappointed with the fact they haven't done ANY UPGRADES to improve the experience besides a water bottle counter they installed in 1998.

Great Facility in the west end. The staff are amazing, and i don't think they get enough recognition for the work they do.The 5 stars go to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so wonderful. The aquatic centre needs to have balance of how many lanes they offer for public and for all the teams that swim there. Seems like a logistics issue.Change rooms are clean. The facility is great but lately there seems to be a lot of theft and breaking of lockers.I wish they would have some system of security to make sure people and their belongings are safe and protected.Individuals who think they can get high and come for a swim, well they should proceed with caution and i have seen this happen and the staff handled this really well. Actually Kudos to the staff who handled the situation with grace, empathy and professionalism. The facility is amazing! thank you to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so amazing !You are noticed and hope you will be acknowledged and recognized.

I recently visited the Vancouver Aquatic Centre and was disappointed with the terrible customer service I received from the receptionist ladies. From the moment I walked in, I was met with a rude and unhelpful attitude that made me feel unwelcome. When I asked for assistance with purchasing a pass for my toddler, the receptionists were dismissive and impatient. They spoke to me in a condescending tone and seemed annoyed when I asked for clarification. When I had trouble with the pass scanner, they were unresponsive and uninterested in helping me resolve the issue.I understand that customer service can be challenging, but there is no excuse for the poor attitude and unprofessional behaviour I experienced at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and kindness, and that was certainly not the case during my visit.I would not recommend this facility to anyone who values good customer service. The receptionist ladies need to be trained on how to properly interact with customers and provide assistance in a friendly and helpful manner. Until that happens, I will be taking my business elsewhere.I would have given them 0 star but there was no option for it.

It's a very good place to practice swimming or just enjoy the pool in the open lane. The facility needs to educate more people about the lanes: in general, people have a good sense but it's very annoying to see people using the wrong lane or not sharing the space (which is public!). Another thing is the pool is heavily reserved for clubs or classes, so the public in general doesn't have half the pool or much less to swim. It's a very good pool but needs a better organization for lanes.

Good pool for training with 50m lengths but there used to be more public time.l and ut did not close as early. Tuesday and Thursday evenings are dedicated to private setup with only a couple short 20m lanes, okay for a short swim.

The Vancouver Aquatic Centre is both a hit and miss. I've been coming to this pool for lane swim training for the past two years now, here are my conclusions:- This facility seems to heavily prioritize classes and clubs. About 60% of the times that I've gone swimming, more than half of the pool is reserved for clubs and training associations. I more than support the presence of these clubs, however, I think the pool could do a better job at managing lanes, i.e. giving us one more lane back when the pool is very busy and clubs are also training at the same time. There have been many times where I feel as if the money I pay for my subscription is not equal to the quality of swimming I need and should have.- The facility is old, but this does not mean it is not clean. I truly like the mid 1970s architectural style and you do feel the history and athletic energy of this pool when you're there.- The lifeguards could be more attentive to swimmers who are swimming in lanes which they should not be in. There have been many times where a slow swimmer will be in a fast lane and be completely ignorant to the pace which you must maintain when in a faster lane. As such, the lifeguards can always nudge this person and suggest they move to a slower lane.- Monthly pricing and yearly subscriptions are at a good price point, not too high or too low either, it is around $53 for a one month subscription if I am not wrong. This gives you access to the pool, dive pool, sauna, hot tub and gym.
