Lucky Garden
To start with, I've been a customer for over 30 years. They know us by name. They have been a family gathering place for decades, and we love the establishment and staff. The food has consistently been some of, if not totally, our favorite food overall of any restaurants in the region. Now, as with many things, the last few years have brought challenges to businesses that no one ever thought would happen. One of the unfortunate outcomes has been lack of normal supply for ingredients and food goods as well as major staffing challenges, and Lucky's wasn't spared. Some of our go to favorite dishes have changed due to supply issues or changes in cooking staff and sadly aren't what we hope for. We are still regulars and will always be, and hope that supplies and staffing will allow a return to the traditional food we fell in love with.Thank you for all of the years of bringing our family together, and we look forward to many more.

The staff is very sweet but the food is mama huhu. (Ok) Uncooked chicken in a steamed chicken and veggie dish; dumplings so thick the tasted like bread. Very disappointed. Hot and sour soup was tasty but so glutinous my plastic spoon could have stood upright. Beef and veggies were cooked but beef was very fatty and no flavor. If this is the best as some state. I won’t be eating Chinese

Nice ambience, terrific location overlooking the river, and genuinely terrific food.Out friends took us to Lucky Garden from over an hour away. They've been going there for more than ten years because they like it so much. There was an ownership change and my friends say the quality hasn't gone down at all.I had a Szechuan tofu dish right off the menu. It was very good and seemed entirely authentic (I lived a short time in Hong Kong but have never been to Szechuan Province; I have, however, spent a lifetime eating Chinese every chance I get).I found the vegetable dumplings to be a little dull; the wrapper, although a little thick, was perfectly flavored. My wife had mushu shrimp. It was delightful; the plum sauce was oddly thick, which that may be a regional variation, to but it had a great flavor. One of our friends ate from the buffet which I gather he always enjoys. The other had a steamed seafood assortment that she enjoyed very much.We will definitely be going back, commute and all. I couldn't recommend Lucky Garden more highly

Always love going to this place. The food fresh and hot. They do lack variety but are the cheapest buffet price from gardnier to to Auburn so it's good. Restaurants overlooks the river and usually well cleaned. To include restrooms tables floors. Waitress are a weakness though as you should never have to ask for refills or napkins. Other than that if they got more variety and didn't use MSG I. There food they d be 1000 times better. But they are getting there.

What a waste of money. I ordered a pu-pu Platter for 1 and chicken fried rice. I have the recipe for the rice. Take some white rice, add some frozen peas and carrots, mix in some raw onions. I had to throw most of it away. Boneless ribs were so tough I could barely chew them. Chicken fingers were overcooked. I took 1 bite of the shrimp and that was enough. The teriyaki chicken was the only edible thing. Lucky Garden...they will be lucky if they ever see me again!

Service was friendly when seated and then when it mattered, it was woeful (when you could get it).We got the buffet. Probably a mistake. Cold and chewy is not something I want to say when describing rice. Will go back to order off of the menu. Hoping for better next time.

Looking for your happy place? Here it is! There is a view of the river, art on the wall, lush plants, and the food is delicious. They make a nice cup of tea and a good cocktail as well. The prices are also very good. We were a party of 10 with reservations at 4PM on a Sunday night. We were able to get right in, and the buffet was full, hot, and offered a nice selection of foods.

We've been searching for a new Chinese restaurant since our favorite sold and then closed (Panda Garden in Auburn). Had almost given up trying, but I'm so glad we took a chance on Lucky Garden. The buffet was fresh, hot and tasty. Also got a lunch special to take home for our son - he was equally impressed! As Arnold said, I'll be back.""

I truly don't understand how people like this place.I heard their all you can eat buffet was delicious so I decided to give it a try.The buffet is $16.99. With a soda or tea that goes up to roughly $20, yikes. The buffet was disgusting. There were 11 options on the buffet: a few chicken dishes, some horribly disgusting egg rolls, some nasty rice and some fried bread." It was extremely tiny for such a large price. The chicken dishes were your classics like teriyaki
