Happy to have found a Caribbean Market in the Van area. Being from Toronto the culture there makes Caribbean food so much more accessible. In Vancouver not so much, which is disappointing. Best option is to just make it yourself. So I came across this grocery store. Good place with good variety. But some of their prices are crazy. I would give it 5 stars if their prices were normal but they are priced as if you live in a secluded island and have items arriving by boat once a week lol.. The store probably could have a 5 star rating if they did fair price adjustments.

Great selection of caribbean food. Really enjoy the beef patties and bulla cakes. Even green bananas and yam is available. Owner and staff very friendly and cheerful.

Caribbean Market is a small shop located in New Westminster. They sell all sorts of goodies from different places in the Caribbean. For me though, as someone whose Mom came from Trinidad, this place is my go to" for Trinidadian foods. I like coming here whenever I need to stock up on dried sorrel which I use to make a Trinidadian drink called Sorrel. They also sell Sorrel syrup and ready made bottled Sorrel for those who prefer an instant beverage. I've found from past experience though that Sorrel always tastes better when it's homemade.I was excited to see Peardrax and Sea Moss on the shelves. (More Caribbean beverages that I drank when I was in Trinidad) They also have Chadon Beni (a popular condiment in Trinidad)

They indicated on Google and on the store’s door (see pic) that they're open 12-5 pm on Sundays. I came at 12noon and stood for about 45 minutes (then 15 mins waiting on a bus across the street). Another person was here before me, and he stayed about 30minutes. About 6-7 other persons came and left. They should remove Sundays from Google and on the store sign.I don't think I will ever return to this store. I'd rather pay a premium elsewhere.

Found what I needed and many varieties of that item, pleasant surprise. Pricing was more than what I hoped however I find at alot of mom n pop ethnic stores that's the norm. Service could have been better. I don't go here too often for the above reasons unless I'm in a pinch.

Great spot for those of you missing home, (or those of you who like me are missing the cooking of your former partners/in-laws). You'll find goat meat and roti skins over in the icebox next to a bunch of different patties in big bags. You can get a number of things from Newfoundland here too, lots of stuff with the purity label, salt fish and buckets of beef and SAVORY fresh dried. Sometimes they even have some live stuff in little pots you can plant at home.

Was good for a while. Last time we bought stuff that needed up being expired.. They managed to remove the expiry dates to fool customers. Never shopping here again. We used to spend $100 a month. Thankfully there is a great store in Surrey that has more selection anyway.

Fantastic store with all kinds of Pepper sauces from Trinidad, Jamaica and other Caribbean islands. You will see popular brands such as Grace and Matouks. You will also see original drinks from the region such as Peardrax, Solo and many others. You also will find Plantain Chips, cookies and other food items and spices.
