About the Business

Kaslo Cenotaph | Nelson Kootenay Lake Tourism | The Cenotaph was originally erected in 1922 to honour the men who fell during WW I. It also memorializes the fallen from WW II and the Korean War. Among those honoured is Col. Arnold Kemball in command of the 54th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the Battle of Vimy Ridge in 1917. Kemball was kiiled on March 1, 1917. The Battle of Vimy Ridge is one of the most important moments in Canadian military history.
