OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital

I've been a client at Smith Lane for several years and have always received the best care for our cat. Everyone we interact with from students to vet techs to administration to veterinarians is always so kind and attentive. We feel so grateful that we have a team we can trust who has our cat's best interests at heart and cares about her almost as much as we do. I recommend Smith Lane to every friend who gets a new pet because they're truly the best vet clinic I've gone to in Guelph.

We have been bringing our dog to the OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital for years and it has always been a wonderful experience.The friendly staff have been great to work with and always caring.Since it's connected to the University we love the fact our dog gets to be seen by two people during each visit.I would highly recommend the OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital :)

My dog visits their physical therapy clinic and really enjoys it. The staff are so tuned in and encouraging, the best bedside manner I have ever experienced from the whole staff. They really give my guy all the attention he wants which is great for us, makes doing the right thing by my dog a great experience for all of us. This was always my mom's vet. Sadly, I have put down 2 cats - 1st the boy (brother) 2 years ago and then the girl (sister) 2 weeks ago. The cats were very old, sick, in pain and had poor life quality.The vets here and the vet technicians and vts in residence, etc. are ALL so kind, gentle and caring. They equally care about the pet owners and the pet.I have never had a bad visit. I have had over 10 years experiences with this vet clinic. Only quality, efficient, caring, loving and professional.

The staff was warm and inviting. The Vet took the time and explained what she was doing. Also kept ne engaged as I was waiting for my dog to get tests done. U fully recommend OVC if your Fur baby" needs medical attention."

This is definitely the best Vet in Guelph. You can get your presentations filled right here for your pets, and saves an additional trip to the drug store. All staff are attentive and pet lovers. They have a monthly program for your pets that can reduce overall costs. Prices are reasonable and you are helping veterinary students learn.

Everyone (I mean literally EVERY person on staff) was incredibly warm, caring, and friendly. You guys are doing a wonderful job! Wait time is never more than a few minutes. Technician gathers all the information regarding the appointment along with any other concerns to share. They explain the course of action and any associated costs before proceeding. Always very careful with my 4 cats.Very pleased that I started coming here!

Smith Lane put us on the right track to diagnosing our cattle dog mix, who had been misdiagnosed by many previous vets and was continuing to get sicker with a pancreatic disorder. While they referred us, their communication with the specialist/follow up with lab appointments was amazing, and the entire team has been so great at getting our dog in for an appointment whenever she has a flare up of any of her conditions. Our two other dogs are treated with such care by everybody at the clinic, too, and our ~year with the clinic has been filled with so many positive experiences.

We recently moved to Guelph and after trying a number of local clinics and vets, we landed at OVC.From day 1, both the medical and administrative staff and students have been exceptional. Everything from basic check-ups to intensive testing and treatments has been made to feel totally manageable with the support of Dr. Shannon Gowland and the team. Liz and Katie (I really hope that's her name!) at reception are both so wonderful as well. All the students we've dealt with have been friendly, professional and extremely thorough.We had to go through a difficult and inconclusive diagnostic process with one of our dogs throughout 2021 and unfortunately had to say goodbye to him ;later that year. Dr. Shannon was incredibly compassionate, patient and professional.Our lab is constantly nervous at the vet and when we arrive at OVC she walks right in. Our new puppy has been welcomed into the clinic by all staff with full and open arms.We highly recommend their monthly plans, particularly if you are without insurance as they help to cover and amortize many of the costs associated with keeping your furry family members healthy.We can't imagine taking our babies anywhere else and we are so grateful for everyone's expertise.
