Buyer Be Were!!!!!Do not hire this company. Their moving and storage van damaged my car last week due to falling ice and snow falling off from their truck while driving on the 416 Queensway on Jan 22, 2020. Damage claim $353., to date they ignore all my phone calls and refuse to pay for the Insurance Claim and deny all damages. Follow up phone calls ignored and very unprofessional when dealing with Mr. Gilboa,s staff and the owner.

I worked with DG MacDonald moving just a little less then a month ago and it went really well! we moved from Ottawa to Nova Scotia. After looking into many different companies I came across this moving company. (I highly recommend this company!!) Everyone was very informative and answered emails or calls quickly.Rob gave me the quote and when we went through what was going on the truck he asked enough questions to get the most accurate quote. Cody was very nice and helpful, made it very easy after the quote to the truck payment.Eric was our truck driver and the move went so easily. When the stuff got dropped off everything was in good condition nothing broken and in good time!Good experience and highly recommend this company!!!

From start to finish the two men moving my mom were amazing! They showed up early which was terrific, they were extremely pleasant and very accommodating! They had smiles on their faces and laughed with my mom who was amazed at their strength and abilities to move several boxes at a time. Top notch moving company! I would recommend this business to anyone moving! Very satisfied customers!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I have done 5 international moves and 2 domestic moves with different moving companies, and this was by far the worst.1. The company is difficult to communicate with, particularly the operations team. Miscommunication which could have easily been avoided left my family homeless for 5 days as we did not have our furniture at the intended dates of move in.2. The movers were hired to do a full service move but instead installed our furniture with the handles on backwards on multiple of our drawers and then left us at lunchtime to have us unpack everything ourselves. They told us to put the boxes on a covered terrace and that we could call the company to come back and pick them up.3. When we called the company they refused to come pick up the boxes stating that we didn't follow instructions and left them outside when we left them exactly where the company told us to in a covered space.4. The additional charges for another company to pickup the 215 boxes is more than $200.5. The operations and client service contact Cody is unprofessional. Regardless of what the company states on their website it is clear that they are not directed towards client service. They have no empathy for the fact that moves are very stressful in general and they take no accountability for their shortcomings in terms of client service.This company is a huge source of stress, not worth the costs and would not recommend to anyone.Do not hire this company.

The worst mover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I end up paying almost double for moving my house items while the weight has reduced from the quote by about 900 lb. No additional service given, just doubled the charge once they got my stuff on hand. Could have ended to court, but I don't have time. Will never recommend this mover ever!!!!

Seeing all the horror stories about various movers, I was nervous about my long-distance move and what could happen to my furniture (some fragile, some expensive, or both). Barry came over for a quote and was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions (and follow-up questions after receiving the quote). After getting quotes from other companies, I ended up going with DG MacDonald. Then it was the big questions: (1) Will they show up on time for pick up (high-rise building with elevator reservation), (2) how long will it take for the stuff to arrive at destination and, (3) will anything be damaged or missing.(1) The three movers arrived a few minutes ahead of time and were very efficient, even picking up stuff I thought I’d have to move myself because I couldn’t find a suitable box.(2) Pick up was Friday, they asked if Tuesday for delivery was fine. With a 10-day delivery window that started Monday (as per the quote), I thought that was pretty good (note: the 10-day delivery window seems to be standard in the business as all the quotes I got had the same window). That turned out to be perfect as we had snowstorms on Monday and Wednesday, but a nice sunny day on Tuesday. Two of the same movers delivered my stuff. They showed up a good hour before I expected them based on their time of departure, which was nice.(3) Nothing was missing and damage was minimal (just a couple of scratches that I was able to take care of with a masking pen). Once again they were very professional and help put back together a few items that require two people.That was a tough move for many reasons, but the experience with DG MacDonald was one of the things that was practically stress-free. I’ve since recommended them to a friend moving out of the same building.

My furniture and art were damaged in a move of under 5km. Almost two weeks later I do not know if and when they will address the details of the damages. Do not consider using their services.

a great company came in below estimate. Fast efficient, no damages. the moving crew was professional and respectful of my home and my belongings. I would recommend D.G. Macdonald Moving to anyone looking for a great moving company.

While the folks who came to deliver the items were ok, the person handling the shipment wasn't as courteous - I was forced to go with his time and convenience. His deal was that if I could not go with his time, then I'd get it much later - and this inspire of his agreeing to send the material at a time good for me.
