Stay away from this crummy company. We paid Sherry Crummy for a service that she could not do or finish. I wanted to switch our existing company’s website to a new Shopify platform. I told Sherry that I wanted the web site to look the same and work the same as our existing website. She agreed to do it for $3000. She requested that I pay $1500 up front as a deposit. This should have been a one-week job once she started it. Four months later, the website looks nothing like our old website, and it did not work properly. Sherry tells me that she only works with Shopify templates and can not modify them. She recommended that I find a Shopify expert to complete the job. As I need custom coding to make the website look and work the same as our existing web site. I thought she was the expert. That’s why I hired her. She should have known that this was above her ability before she even gave a quote. Thru out this ordeal and for taking so long, she nothing but excuses like; my head developer was in the hospital, she had 3 family issues in one week, could not work because she put her back out and can only sit to work for 3 only hours a day. She was on vacation for 10 days. Many other excuses, and it went on an on and on. She is terrible at communicating. Sometimes it took up to a week for a response. I asked her for a refund which she declined. I am not only out the $1500 that I paid Sherry, I am also out about another $1500 I had to Pay Shopify, and apps for Shopify for the 4 months of time wasted.UPDATE------Response to Crummy Media’s response-----Shopify templates are totally customizable. I asked you right from the start that I would like the Shopify website to look, and work like our existing website. You did not tell me you did not do custom coding until you recommended that I get a Shopify expert to finish the job, four months later. Your contract does not say that you do not do custom coding. Most web site developers charge approximately $100 per hour. You charged us $3000 in total. I figure that is about 30-40 hours of work. How can it take 4 months that you claim is normal to complete a web site? Whether we have 500 items on our site, or 50,000 items, the work is the same. We uploaded all the products, images, and product information onto the Shopify site for you. The POS system works exactly like it is supposed to, and it is working fine with many other companies that use Shopify. I understand that people get sick, or they can have family issues. But you had a lot of them. What happened to your team? Did all of them get sick, and have family issues, and go on a holiday at the same time? I run a business just like you. If I get sick, my team covers for me. Unfortunately, you, and your team let me down. You did not complete the work you agreed to do. You dragged it out hoping that I would just go away. Why should you get paid?
