We employed Magnolia Construction for our renovation and would highly recommend their services.Before hiring Magnolia, we were at wits end- dealing with tradespersons who overpromised and underdelivered. Jobs were left unfinished, and, in some cases, needed to be ripped out and restarted.Joey, Claudio, and the Magnolia team put an end to the anxiety and uncertainty by arriving on time, performing according to agreed-upon specifications, and meeting budget expectations.Magnolia is professional in their approach, and genuine in their desire to satisfy their clients.It’s no surprise that they were entrusted to work on the Chateau Laurier and Notre Dame basilica.We would gladly use their services again.

In summer of 2020, during a pandemic lull, with a potty training 3 year-old and an 8 month-old, we realized that our lives would be made much easier if we had a powder room on the main level. Our 1920s home in Little Italy had a very small, closet type space at the top of our basement stairs where we tended to shove things, and we'd heard mention when we bought the house in 2016 that we could “sneak a powder room in there. And so began our hunt to do just that.We had numerous contractors through to scope out the job and provide estimates. One told us he “didn’t see it” and encouraged us to get other opinions

Based on the work output of Magnolia Construction, we are amazed at how they have executed the actual construction and finished it ahead of their target end time with quality. The owner, Joey, is very hands-on in ensuring that the client's requirements match his staff's skills. His dedication and commitment to the client are evident by catering to answer all our queries, even on the weekend. Finally, we found a trusting contractor for the residence of our ambassador.

After so many tries to find someone to finish our basement , we finally chose this company , Joey has been an absolute pleasure to work with . Joey and Richard from Magnolia Construction were fantastic to work with throughout our basement renovation. Not just another 5 star reviewIt’s a long review, but if you’re like me when researching a company to renovate your home, the details really matter.We converted a 3 bedroom single family home in Beaverbrook into our 5 bedroom, forever dream home. The renovation would require a complete basement renovation that would include building a theatre room, a bathroom with a walk-in shower and heated floor, a guest bedroom, an office that would be used every day, and installing 2 egress windows. We also updated the kitchen, replaced all the lighting in the house, painted all 3 levels of the house, and painted all the doors as well as installed new hardware. Oh and we would be living in the home for the 2nd half of the renovation. A big job.We interviewed a lot of designers and contractors. Naturally, we wanted someone who would deliver excellent work. But we also wanted a contractor that would make this an experience we would enjoy. We wanted a contractor who would work well with our excellent designer, Kelly Maorino from Unique Spaces. We wanted good communication and accountability. With any job of this size issues were bound to come up, we wanted someone with integrity who would work with us to solve them.Magnolia Construction exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship was excellent, communication was immediate, the project stayed on budget, when we encountered issues the Magnolia team worked with us and our designer to find practical, creative solutions to give us the outcome we were looking for. They really earned our trust. Creative and practical approaches were not limited to just solving problems. As the team became familiar with our style they would proactively make recommendations they thought would improve our home. Sometimes we took the recommendation and sometimes we didn’t (usually we did), but we were always impressed with the care and pride they were taking in renovating our home. In the second half of the project while we were living in the home while it was being renovated the team was always respectful and courteous (my wife and I both work from home and we have two teenage daughters).We will be conducting some exterior renovations this summer and we’re looking forward to working with Magnolia again. I can’t think of a stronger endorsement than that.Thanks Magnolia, for bringing our dream home to life.

Magnolia, is just wrapping up renovating our home - a one hundred year old brick house in the Glebe. TWO important things to share up front: they did it on budget and they bent over backwards to make us happy - even when we added things at the last minute. I'm writing this from our living room sitting with our family in front of the fire, the house is beautiful, but even more importantly because they included us at every step, it feels like home. To say the house was bad before is an understatement, terrible broken and uneven floors, 1980's kitchen, 1970's bathroom and even though it was a big space it all felt small. They opened it up, evened it up and finished it with class. The crew who worked on it, a team of Kurdish refugees were kind to our kids and loved our dog, our project manager Mike was amazing clearly caring about our needs and even bringing flowers for my wife and the company owner Joey, despite being a Habs fan, was amazing treating us like family. We will be doing work in our yard in the New Year and there's no question we'll be working with Magnolia again.

Joey recently helped my wife and I during our process of buying a home in Ottawa. We were quite interested in finding a home with good bones and location and then doing a major renovation. Joey joined our realtor and us for multiple viewings, and gave his opinion on what would need to be done from a structural and cosmetic perspective, and was able to give rough quotes, which appeared to be realistic and forthcoming . This was really crucial as we were trying to stay within budget and see what sort of value we could get for our dollar.There was one home, for instance, that initially looked like it might just need major cosmetic changes (we were willing to do gut job reno). But after Joey joined us for a viewing, he pointed out the block foundation, poor grading and notably a damp and moldy smelling basement. He gave us a realistic quote as to what would be needed to fix the structural problems, and it would’ve blown up our budget.Unfortunately, we never found the house with great bones that we could have Magnolia renovate, but we did find a great house that was essentially turnkey.Down the road we may renovate the basement and will certainly be giving Magnolia a call when that time comes. From our experience, Joey was a straight shooter and a funny and charismatic guy too.
