We appreciate BC Hydro's hard working staff. Thanks for getting the power to our doorsteps. People have absolutely no clue what you guys go through to make this happen. We don't even realize how lucky we are to have the power to began with. Only if people live without the power for a week. Only then they realize how thankful they should be for what's been brought to them every second of every minute of an every hour of every day; 7 days per week, and three hundred and sixty...... five.... precious day per year, for years and years. Of all the bad services, this one takes the olive branch!Needed to open a new account for just a few months. They didn't tell me that by simply agreeing for a quick financial score check I didn't need a security deposit! Being new (previously dealt with the New West Hydro) I paid the deposit and only later discovered from reading the paper invoice that I'd wasted $50 - good luck now getting it back!When I called about the refund, they said that this will be credited back on the next billing. On the next billing, they grabbed $13 for just opening a new account!I needed to close the account shortly after, nobody from Hydro call centre explained what happens to the credit. Called three times, stayed online 45+ min. The next clerk told me that I again would need to call back, after the account is closed. I requested the cheque with the remaining balance to be mailed as I don't have time to call while working and stay on hold for ever! Was told that she's filling out the form and the cheque will be sent. A month later - cheque never arrived.Called again (another 30+ waiting on hold) - this time the person drilled me about my personal information for verification reasons. Even after providing them with DOB and the residential address, they still needed to know when was the last transaction made, what was the amount and from which bank! Even though the rep could see the remaining balance and I was on the same website, I didn't know where to look for the info they wanted and they wouldn't give me any tips or guidance, instead - they refused to issue the cheque! To complicate things, it's just happened that I've recently closed the account from which the last payment was made, so I couldn't verify the amount and the exact date, until by pure luck I stumbled upon the info needed - on BC Hydro's own web page, just under a different tab!Called again and finally got someone to agree to mail the cheque in the mail. Still waiting!This cannot be a simple misrepresentation of the policy by one individual. I'm convinced that by making refunds this difficult to get back BC Hydro is counting on keeping thousands of $$ from seniors and customers who are simply too intimidated and are not computer savy and thus unable to provide all these ridiculous details that BC Hydro demands before issuing the refund! Just like with ICBC, this monopoly of services needs to stop!

Always great service with them, they're very nice and thorough. Exactly how BC Hydro should be

Encountered one of your trucks last night, parked with the engine idling, the driver was very respectful, he moved along when I asked him to turn off the engine (either/or is fine, his snack looked like it was done anyway). Heh, in a perfect world no one would be idling for 20 minutes (3 minutes is the law, and the fumes sure do pool around here in the evening air) but I just want to give kudos for him not escalating the matter, we met with smiles and parted with smiles. Now if we could just do something about that atrocity that is Site-C... (the 5 stars is NOT for that, let's be clear about that)

Had Dustin come out for an outage to my farm. One of the cleanest and nicest experiences I’ve had with an outage experience. He assisted me and gave me guidance on the tough situation. Thanks Dustin!
