Lured Outdoors Ice Fishing Rentals

I found myself in Winnipeg with a day to kill before a flight, luckily I spent that day ice fishing on the Red River thanks to Lured Outdoors. The hut was perfectly sized, warm and well maintained with very clear instructions for use in a 3 ring binder. The booking process was seamless and the customer service was exemplary. I even managed to pull up a few nice fish. I certainly recommend Lured Outdoors to anyone in the Winnipeg area.

RENTER BEWARE. We rented their ice fishing shelter to take our 9 and 11 year olds ice fishing for the day. When we arrived the heater would not start. We tried for well over an hour and we have experience with that type of heater. Kids had to stay in the car to keep warm. We were also told the holes would be ready when we got there, but they were completely iced over, not just surface ice. The hand auger supplied would not even get through the ice and eventually got so stuck, that the screw broke. (not the auger, the screw) How is that a hole ready for ice fishing? We called for support and asked them to come to the site and help us with the auger and the heater but we were told that goes against rental policy???? They would not come. They offered us a refund and said we could use the shack for the day. For what? The holes were unusable and heater doesn't work. Day ruined. We left. We didn't even get a line in the water. A few days later we get a bill for $211 for damage to the heater and labour to get the auger out of the ice". So

Great experience! Gear worked great! Just bring your tackle box and you're set for a fun day of fishing!We had lots of bites and caught 2 nice size pickerel! Warm and cozy!
