On the train now, train 65 from dorval to Toronto, car 3. Freezing cold, wearing a hat, sweatshirt and a coat. No staff to be found, walked all the way back to car 6, not one employee. Everyone has their masks off... the person behind me, no mask, sneezing constantly. No one is walking the train to verify protocol is being followed. They also are not sanitizing seats any longer. They did however check my vaccination, and then made me label myself, like a jew in the holocaust.

Truly dire handling of Snowmageddon 2022 leaving customers stranded with poor information and outright lies. Either the people working at this VIA station are especially bad at their jobs or they were let down and given no information by the company, but either way I'm out hundreds after having my train/ticket pushed back one day at a time leading to having to stay at airport hotels. And the most annoying part was that on day one when my first train was cancelled there was space on the next train but they refused to rebook me on it citing a lack of clarity as to whether it would run. Two hours later that train did run, and people who ignored the guidance of the staff and bought themselves new tickets on it got to travel but at that point it was too late for anyone who had trusted the staff at Dorval station to get on the fully booked train. I have no family in Montreal and was just passing through and spent days at my own expense in hotels over Christmas as a result, away from family and given no help or information from the company I had trusted to get me to my destination. As frustrating as flying can be when problems happen, at least with airlines the rules are clear, and for weather related delays of over 24 hours they have some responsibility to get you home. With VIA it appears that there are no rules and the second something goes wrong they'll be happy to leave you to die in a snowbank.

Great staff and clean station. Beware of people loitering around the station and the nearby bus stop. Coffee from the Van Houtte machine is good.

If you are taking the train towards downtown Montreal, it is a bit complicated. After getting off the bus at the terminal, you should go inside the bus station and then go downstairs, then go through a small tunnel with a green house inside. It would take some time to figure out the right ticket from the self service machine and there is no ticket office, no one to ask if you are confusing.

Small train station but very clean and warm. There is no cafe, so prepare some food yourself.

When a train got delayed, their entire system broke down. I had SMS alerts turned on but they did not alert me when the train showed up. I was never emailed about the changes to the schedule. The employees did not inform the station full of passengers what was going on, instead getting them to line up and ask the same question over and over. The arrivals and departures board had a bunch of erroneous information displayed, not one time was ever accurate. It doesn't bother me to have my train delayed, it happens, but I need clear, fast communication and a much better organized response. Their entire train tracking system needs to be thrown out and they should start from scratch. Also the employees need to be trained to deal with a situation like this with clear, loud, and repeated announcements to the entire station. People kept arriving and being totally confused with no one to help them.
