Duke St. Parking Garage

Gee where to start. It has parking. It has direct access to the Museum. It has fairly clean stairwells for street access. It has a 15 minute grace period for quick stops free of charge. And for anyone with kids it has the fun spiral descent to exit the structure. That all sounds great, but reality check here, it's a parking garage. It's unlikely to wow off your socks. Boy howdy can you park here though.

Wouldn't accept credit cards so we paid cash. Went to leave and 2 cars were blocking the exit as they couldn't get out trying to pay with a credit card. We waited at least 15 minutes. I had to get out of the car as the gas fumes were choking me. There was no help.

It is way better now

It's a parking garage. First 2 hours are usually free. It's in a great spot to walk around the area and I usually use this. What else is there to say? Uhm.. Why doesn’t Santa ever pay for parking?Because it’s on the house.

If you get here after 10am on a weekday, you're going up to floor 4.

Go way up to the top and then roll a Slinky down the spiralling exit to the garage. Much fun had by all!

Not ideal for large sedans or medium sized SUVs

It earns a star because of convenience, but it only gets the one star. It's ridiculously expensive for a monthly parking pass, and the facility itself has seen better days (chipped/peeling paint everywhere).My biggest frustration, however, is the transponder system. My transponder works maybe half the time. The other half of the time, I pull up to the gate, flail my arm around for 30 seconds, and nothing happens. So then I have to back all the way up to the ticket dispenser (not always possible if there are cars waiting behind me), and take a paper ticket just to get into the garage. When this happens (at least once a week), at the end of the day, the gate won't open to let me out with my transponder (again, after flailing for 30 seconds), because of Passback Protection" -- in other words
