Discovery Nest Early Learning Center

My daughter loves her daycare and couldn’t wait to see her educator and friends everyday. Ruw and Scarlet are both very professional. I can see that they care about kids. They have different activities everyday for kids to explore the world. They also summarize each day and communicate through an APP with parents. Discovery Nest is one of the best daycare in Edmonton. I really appreciate their work and have recommended to my friends!

I was nervous to make the switch from a dayhome to a daycare for my son but Discovery Nest was worth it. They made the transition seamless. Professional, communicative, caring. I can go on and on. My son loves attending and I love seeing all of the unique and fun activities he is exposed to on a daily basis. You won’t regret sending your little one to Discovery Nest!

We love sending our son to discovery nest! They are organized, friendly and caring. We appreciate how well the communicate with us and let us know about all the fun activities they have planned. Our son is learning loads and never wants to leave when we go to pick him up! I can tell that the staff really care about the children there. Would highly recommend this daycare!

I can not say enough positive things about Discovery Nest!!! Starting daycare with a child that was born at the start of the covid pandemic was an uncomfortable feeling but Discovery Nest staff were so kind, thoughtful and professional. The daycare facility has a homely feel, the staff are happy and so caring and warm towards the children. My girl loves attending she is encouraged to learn new skills and enjoys the activities which are always varied, child centered and purposeful. The communication is also fantastic, I'm always kept upto date on my child's day and to be able to see the photos during my working breaks gives me a smile. Thank you Discovery Nest!!!!

We truly feel privileged to have found Discovery Nest Early Learning Centre. The Directors are responsive, organized, and very kind. They communicate quickly with parents, and I always trust that my child is in very good hands. The programming is evidence-based, contemporary, varied, and puts the child’s learning and wellness first. Everyday is filled with developmentally appropriate activities (with environmentally friendly materials) that are inclusive and diverse. The language and problem-solving strategies that are used with the children are similarly intentional and thoughtful. The activities are then posted regularly on an app, thus helping parents feel connected to the Centre. The Directors/Educators ask for parental input into the activities and are so responsive to feedback. Guidelines and regulations are rigorously thought-out and make us feel safe even in a pandemic. Our kiddo loves having new adventures and dare I say sleeps/eats better at the Nest than at home! Thank you to the educators for your hard work, dedication, and genuine care for our children!

Both of my children attend Discovery Nest and I feel like we won the lottery. Each educator is amazing. My children are learning skill to get them ready for school but also emotional skills. This not really a daycare but more a learning centre. They follow an amazing eating plan with both my picky eaters.They truly have become extended family to us and I’m so grateful my kids attend Discovery Nest.

Discovery nest has loved and guided my children for the past several years. A truly genuine and immersive child-led program, the staff are responsive, creative and implement developmentally appropriate activities. I can't say enough good things about there intentional food program, the way they encourage curiosity, exploration and even during covid- have encouraged family connection by highlighting different parents and community members. Discovery nest values outdoor time and our children are outside many times during the day. I love seeing what my kids are up to on the app they use to communicate daily activities. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on their day and practice new ideas at home.

We are new to Discovery Nest as of this fall. We had been on the wait list since I was five months pregnant and were so hopeful to get a spot as it was the best daycare out of all the ones we toured. Thankfully, we got a spot and couldn't be happier. The educators are kind, caring and communicative. They make their space inclusive and kept safety top of mind with COVID protocols. My son is learning a lot and I like the lesson plans that they develop. My son always smiles and waves at his teachers when we leave because clearly they've made an impact in a short period of time. The app they use to give us parents updates is fantastic. Having that peace of mind is everything. Lastly, the orientation process was helpful. They gave us an overview of what to bring to daycare, what to expect and enough time to adapt to their schedule before starting at the center. Overall, it has been a huge relief to find safe, high-quality childcare that is close to our home. My son can meet kids who will be living in our same community at the center because they make the daycare feel like one big family. Thank you Scarlet and team!

Discovery Nest is an exceptional early learning childcare centre. It is a place where children feel at home, find their own community, and form genuine connections. The staff are extremely warm, kind, and nurturing. They strive to really get to know the children and family unit - everything from the child’s preferences & interests, and the routines & traditions celebrated in the child’s home. Staff are professional, approachable, good communicators (quick to inform as needed and always sharing celebrations) and reflective in their work. They share their planning and observations around your child’s development. All programming is developmentally appropriate and inspiring in so many ways. The environment itself is gorgeous - clean, calming, inviting, and thoughtfully planned with the children in mind. Their snack menu is very diverse and offers lots of variety and options. Our kids always share their excitement about the “yummy food” they get to eat there.Discovery Nest incorporates tons of natural, Reggio-inspired materials and loose parts play. They provide rich play activities and value physical activity and outdoor play which is HUGE! Children are always offered with the opportunity to have plenty of time outside, both on site and off site (nature walks). We can’t say enough about “The Nest” - they are simply amazing ♥️

I have nothing but but positive reviews for Discovery Nest. As a first time parent, my partner and I looked into multiple daycare and day home establishments. None gave as good a first impression as Discovery Nest. The facility is well laid out, well equipped, clean, and welcoming. The entire staff is friendly, responsive, and seem to have made a genuine connection with our child.Discovery Nest uses the Brightwheel app to keep us informed of activities throughout the day - we're informed of his nap lengths, what his meals are and how much is eaten, and all potty events. It keeps communication regarding needed supplies and upcoming activities very straightforward and easy to keep track of. Best of all, we get activity updates and photos throughout the day.Most importantly, though, our child is excited to go to daycare. He's happy when we pick him up, and lights up at the sight of the employees when we drop him off (he's under 2yrs so no direct feedback from him yet!). He is picking up skills, language, and positive behaviors that constantly surprise us. There is an obvious emphasis on education of the children.I wholeheartedly recommend Discovery Nest to any family looking for a daycare.
