I went over to Merkley because they are the Ottawa specialists, I was making a concrete countertop. I told the salesman about my project, and also that I wanted color for the project. He showed me the colors, and I asked him to give me the amount I needed for the concrete I was getting. When I made the project, I used all of the product he sold me and this is where it gets the 2 star rating... When I made the concrete, the color was not what I expected, thinking it would dry darker. A week after, the bright orange countertop has not gotten darker to the dark red brick color it was supposed to be. I called the specialists at Merkley, explaining the situation, the person at the other end literally told me with a very arrogant tone that they wouldn't know how much to use and it is up to me to do the trial and error and he refused to provide any advice or solution, instead I was wasting his time. I had good past experiences with Merkley but my last two encounters were far from this, both times I felt I was bothering them. I just find it very unfortunate that I will have to start all over again as a new trial. And I will now have to become the expert for my project because such support does not seem to be available anymore.I'm very strong on supporting local shops, but I expect a decent service especially from a place who is supposed to be experts in their field. I hope my comments will help fixing the situation for the future.

I went to Merkley's for help after we encountered some issues with a concrete project (we made the mistake of relying on a big box store). The staff at Merkley's were AMAZING. Polite, knowledgeable and friendly! They went above and beyond to make sure we had the right products and knew how to apply them. I will definitely be going back in the future!

Excellent selection of stone and brick products; I have completed several projects using Merkley's materials. Staff are usually very friendly and available, but there can be a significant wait at times. Orders were delivered on time and on budget. I highly recommend them.

Front door locked. Sign says to call to order or make an appointment. 15 minute wait time on the phone standing outside.. at least 10 customers walk up to the locked front door then just leave.. ok.. interesting business practice of turning away your potential clients who drove to your location. the sales agent answers the phone and is kind and professional. the specialized refractory product I need is in stock but will verify in the warehouse. 5 min wait... agent returns: oh wait, nope, not in stock lul (and maybe never ordering more). smh. I drove 40 minutes, waited 20 minutes on hold, probably never coming back except as a last resort.

They are always friendly and they know their stuff....all they need now is to open a sandwich shop beside them and they would rake in the cash.

Superlative customer service. I called for a small job and Joe took the time to do the research and get back to me same day. Would definitely recommend. They know how to treat people.

They have a great selection of products, friendly service and fast delivery! I got some gorgeous pavers for our front walk a couple of years ago and I ordered a truckload of river rock in May for our backyard. My go to for brick, stone and landscape accessories!

Merkley Supply is definitely underappreciated. My friends and myself have been dealing with them for many decades and they are our go-to guys for masonry products!

Joe O'Leary was very helpful in identifying my closest brick match. The brick was a very odd size. I had called many brick suppliers first that were able to help. I'm happy I came across Joe at Merkley Supply.
