Sharkey's Cuts For Kids - Burlington ON

I regret taking my son to this place for a hair cut. Appealing to children with TVs and cars to sit in for the little ones, however not properly cleaned as hair is absolutely everywhere.The hair dresser seemed nice enough but butchered his hair. We have a curious child who looks around a lot, and instead of waiting a moment for him to get used to what she was doing she just kept cutting and it is much too short. Even worse, when she pulled out the shaver to trim his hair, he kept turning to see what the noise was and now there is a bald patch across the back of his head and the top of his hair sticks out in all directions.Not at all worth the $28 spent.

I have been going to Sharkey’s since last year. I like the new stylists and new management, they are friendly and their service has improved significantly since they changed their staff. They make the haircut experience beyond expected even when they were busy. Now its the kids favorite place to get their haircuts, its very well worth the drive all the way from east Oakville. Keep it up Sharkey’s.

I regret taking my son to this place for a hair cut. The environment is nice and kid friendly but the hair dresser did not know what she was doing. She butchered his hair. I called and talked to the owner and was asked to go back maybe to fix it. Well she butchered a bit more and was trying to excuse herself by saying ohh its the shade of his hair, its the way the hair grows bla bla.At the end I did tell the owner that it still is terrible and could not be fixed and all he told me was ohh next time I can book you with a different person as if I can not do that on my own. I just said I will not come back.So not worth my $28 I spent.

My daughter is ASD and is terrified of getting her hair cut. Previous experiences have included both parents in hand to hold her, once there were 4 of us holding her this was at a Melon ahead that we drive all the way to Mississauga for. ImTook her to Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids in Burlington and it was like she had never been afraid of getting her hair cut before. The set up is like a toy store with toys and candies in display so I think that confused her. I let the owners know about my concerns. They had no issues. They asked my daughter to chose a seat (toy Jeep) to sit in and the owners turned on the tv to Paw Patrol ( after asking her what shoes she liked). She sat there smiling throughout the cutting experience even when the hair dryer came out. At the end of it she proclaimed that her hair cut was awesome as were her two new awesome friends. Costs more than a child’s hair cut at an all ages salon chain but for us it was worth it.

Very friendly, willing to take us as a walk in 15 mins before closing... unlike some other salons for kids that can be open with no one in them yet are appointment only".Really cool birthday party area in the back. Sell lots of hair products and unique toys for kids. My 6 yo says "this is my salon now!""

Brought my toddlers here. Inconsistent and poor haircut, didn’t cut as per style wanted, said they could do 2 haircuts but did them one after another (took longer than planned for). Didn’t really know how to deal with toddlers (they were screaming and not easy).Overall we paid $56 for both haircuts and we will need to get them re-done this week due to the poor haircut. Deeply disappointed.

Overall it is really not a great experience. The gentleman is nice and friendly. But the hair stylist is really not very good at handling the kids. My daughter is 7 year old and one time she didn't lower her chin or stay still for one minute, this lady had to tell her off saying to my daughter you are a big girl " . And also the work is sloppy and basic and rushed especially the braid. I can do much better job than she is in braiding my daughter's hair. In the end I paid $29.00 for a 10 minutes work. Talking about ridiculous price. Will not return to this place even with all the toys."

The hairdresser was very good with my son, as she had a son similar age, she made me feel very comfortable. Lots of toys for the kids to play with while waiting and for you to purchase (not expensive toys just a treat maybe as a bribe if they sit still) one thing I will say, and why I only gave 4 stars.....this store needs a serious DEEP clean. There is hair EVERYWHERE!!!!!! The benches you sit on are COVERED and I ended up bringing a lot of it home. I stripped my son as soon as we got home lol but other than that, the place is pretty good and caters to kids.

The customer service at this location is some of the worst I've ever experienced. I booked an appointment for my 2-yr-old son a few days in advance. When we walked in, there was one person paying and no kids waiting or in chairs. There were three women standing near a computer, and not one said hello or smiled. The woman taking payment from the only other customer there said, Who is this?" -- asking for my son's name. Then she said to the other woman -- "Oh
