DoubleTree by Hilton St. John's Harbourview

Stayed for 4 nights in the suite. The room was spacious and was very clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating, made our stay very comfortable. Great views, highly reccomend.

We stopped here Thursday evening. Location is great, bed super comfy, but the man on reception in the morning was so nice to deal with. We didn’t catch his name, but hopefully he can get the recognition he deserves for being a genuinely nice person.

Great hotel with awesome views of the harbor. Room design and comfort is great. This is not the typical DoubleTree I am accustomed to. Diamond beverage benefit was great!Only issue with the room I had is that you could hear lots of noise from adjoining room (talking, toilet flushing, etc).

I love this hotel and the staff! If you are ever in St. Johns, I highly recommend this place.LOCATION: It's very central and close to signal hill.SERVICE is top notch! We stayed here for two nights on an 8-day vacation in Newfoundland. We had a king room facing the harbor and my partner being a gold status member, we were provided free parking on-site and free breakfast. Initially, I was skeptical to stay at a large hotel chain when there were so many quaint B&Bs in the area. However, the Double Tree does such a great job of welcoming you and making space for the little touches that made our stay special. Some examples of the little things we loved: our room was nautical themed with the ship builder’s design drawings used as wallpaper (you can visit the ship building museum just north west of St. John’s), we had lighthouse style accent lighting in areas and a porthole! The in-hotel restaurant, Little Sparo has a breakfast sandwich with truffle aioli that I could eat every morning – it’s scrumptious. When we first checked-in, we were provided fresh baked cookies (they were literally still warm from the oven). Double Tree in St. John’s was a great choice for us and if you choose to stay there, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Hotel was nice and clean good views and located in a great spot within 15 minute walk to George st. However, the check in was terrible. Extremely slow, and I kept being ignored so they could check on a phone situation while there was other people taking care of it. Also, they didn’t explain anything while checking in, ie parking, wifi, checkout time. And we did not receive the famous cookies!! Also, our room did not have tv remote so had to call down for that as well, but came up very quick.

We had a harbour view room which had nautically themed lights, closet and cupboard doors, and a porthole window in the bathroom door. The room was a little small but had space for a small table and side chair and a desk chair. The TV was a little dated in that it didn't support any streaming services or casting capabilities. The room was cleaned more frequently than specified and the service staff were friendly and helpful. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner all had a masculine (naval?) scent which my wife wasn't a fan of. Nicely located in the downtown within walking distance to many restaurants and pubs. Also, very close to the 0-mile marker of Terry Fox's cross country run. The Business Center" is very limited with one computer and printer (which was out of order on our visit). The fitness center is a little small but adequate. The restaurant seems popular with the locals so reservations are recommended. Parking is available under the building for $10/night. A single co-op washer and dryer are available for visitor use and the front desk will sell you tide pods and dryer sheets."

Had a room booked in advance and paid extra for a Harbour view. When time came to check in we were told that they were over booked and they sent us to the Murray Premises. They offered to pay for our taxi as the difference in price, told then that we had our own vehicle. They did not offer to refund any of the difference. When we arrived at the Murray Premises we were told that the Hilton was after calling for 3 rooms as they were over booked. Like how does this happen? We paid for a harbor view and sure did not get it. Very poor management!!!

The hotel is located within short walking distance to the downtown core. Room is nicely decorated. Hilton gold also get excellent complimentary a la cart breakfast from its on site restaurants. Service is great as well however one star must be deducted for its lack of amenity: there is nothing other than the shampoo and body wash attached to the shower. Meaning if you need to wash your hand you have to get into the wet shower and pump the body soap or shampoo to wash your hands. They also don’t have anything else including facial tissue paper . You have to use toilet paper. The shower door did not close properly so water was leaking into the bathroom (caused some wet socks) and repair was not done over 4 days. Other than that the hotel is really quite nice and is no fault on the staff coz I supposed the hotel owner are short of those thing !

The staff are very friendly and approachable. The rooms are very tidy and clean. The restaurant is very modern with a small but appetizing menu. And the view....you can't beat it. Absolutely a great value for what you get.
