The quality of food and drinks is fairly decent for a small town business. Sometimes it doesn't come out quite right but that's understandable, it happens everywhere (although not necessarily as consistently). The price, however, is outrageous for the quantity and quality of goods and service provided. To get two drinks and a sandwich is well over $20, while at a comparable location like the Corner Bistro, the same meal would be less that $15 (with much more dependable quality). That said, the major downfall of this business is by far the management and staff. The wait times are way too long, caused by a long time issue of understaffing due to budget cuts by management. There is never any assistance of management in the kitchen, attributing to the long wait times. There are many instances while ordering a drink or food that I've seen a staff member rushing to complete everything while the manager stands idly by on her phone.Very disappointed in the quality of this business, and every visit gets worse. Go to the Corner Bistro if you want a good lunch.

Wonderful place. Wide array of very creative hot and cold drinks, homemade baking and lunch items, and they're super at updating their social media so you know what soup's on before heading in. A very quaint antique-y feel to sit and chat in, with lots of pieces available for sale at reasonable prices. Try the red espresso creations!

Food is so fresh and full of flavour and the tea is served to your table is loose leave. Love the antiques in the place old clocks and a stove too. Locals love this cozy restaurant perfect for reading a book on a rainy day.Edit:Last experience wasn’t great sandwich was burnt and product was extremely overpriced.

Great little coffee shop. Also the only little cafe between Sylvan Lake and Breton, and between Lacombe and Eckville. Super nice staff/owner!

The Empress Café is a delightful little café on Main Street. It is cozy, inviting and serves a strong cup of coffee. They always have two kinds of soup (always delicious) offered every day. The sweets are to die for.. making it my favourite spot in town.

This coffeehouse have become a beacon for coffee lovers in Rimbey. Why do they insist on Empress Theatre? Because they know they can count on genuine service, an inviting atmosphere and a superb cup of expertly roasted and richly brewed coffee every time.

Staff was very pleasant, but limited selection of pastries, one apple strudel, 2 cinnamon buns, one bran muffin. It was 11am on a Saturday.. We ordered a double espresso and a dry cappuccino. Awful, the double express was 8 ounces of coffee liquid in a big cup, no crema-should have been 2 ounces in a small cup. The cappuccino was 8 ounces of coffee liquid in a bigger cup, with a small scoop of goat foam on top. Awful, no clue on what expresso really is, although it is prominently advertised on the outside of the shop.
