The coffee is fabulous, but come for the chocolate brownies. They are as good as my Grandma Chris’ brownies. There is no higher praise I can give.

Not sure what happened there but that was probably the worst tasting coffee we’ve ever had from a cafe. More like what you get from a vending machine with very old coffee in it. Very disappointing.

Extremely uncomfortable experience trying to get a coffee from this place. As I placed my order the man behind the counter loudly tells his staff that they should put a higher minimum on card transactions and that the small purchases are ridiculous. I asked if we can drink inside or outside at the tables and he said a vaccine passport is required for both. NO staff is wearing masks while preparing your food but visitors are required to. Extremely condescending and not friendly , there are plenty of coffee places on the island to support, this isn't one I'll be visiting again

The Village Baker Café
My first time on bowen Island and I decided to try this quaint little Cafe, hoping for some of that small town island charm I have heard so much about. The woman working seemed almost bothered that we were there and was quite rude. I ordered bacon and eggs and asked for my eggs over easy. She said no to my surprise I heard the beeping of a microwave in the back. They have other foods in the display that im sure were made else where as they did not look microwaved. Not a great experience , I will never return to this island again.

The Village Baker Café
When you get off the ferry on Bowen Island walk straight up the hill and turn left onto Dorman Road. Don’t get sidetracked with the restaurants and businesses in the way, you can always go back and visit them on your way back. You want to get to the Village Baker and enjoy a nice coffee with an amazing pastry. This is the best way to start your visit in Bowen Island!

A well-kept secret that I need to share! The bakery has yummy fresh baked goods, and we had a lovely breakfast of eggs and bacon and breakfast sandwich. Bon appétit!

Had the eggs and bacon breakfast. I was impressed with the bread as it seemed to be made in house. Self serve coffee was great with multiple options for coffee, milk/cream and sugars. Friendly staff. Delicious cookies, we had a double chocolate and a peanut butter one.

I do not recommend going to this bakery when visiting Bowen Island. My latte tasted burnt and the milk was improperly frothed. The staff working there were neither friendly nor properly trained. Zero allure other than being centrally located.
