Great bakery with good portion sizing! Got to try their blueberry danish, and would highly recommend.Didn't get to try them, but the Obama cookies were definitely overpriced at $4.50 a piece

4 stars just for the variety of pastries they offer and their baguette was on point. Of course it isn’t humanely possible for me to try out all their offering but the scone and the muffins were great. The place is a little cramped but it’s in byward market so makes sense. They make a big deal about Obama cookies as president Obama stopped by here on one of his visits, we didn’t try it but they looked cool. I’m sure if you order one, they would know you are from America. Good bakery if you are looking for some pastries in Ottawa but I believe there are much better specialty French bakeries if you are really looking for quality.

This place is a large bakery that has apart of the bread products, numerous pastries, cakes and pre-made food. The location has inside and outside space to eat. The place it is really busy but the bilingual friendly employees are efficient managing the long lines. I order an almond croissant, that I thought that was old, but when I progress towards the center I realized that it was just crispy. I also had a good raisin bread which was quite good. Since the great variety is available you can easily find something you like.

Obama Cookies are a delightful culinary memento dedicated to the visit of former U.S. President Barack Obama to the city in 2009. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the cookies are famed for their novelty, quality, and connection to a moment in history. Each cookie is a sizeable shortbread, molded into the shape of a maple leaf, which serves as a fitting tribute to the nation's symbol. Obama's face is skillfully rendered in the icing, adding a dash of playfulness to the treat. In terms of flavor, the Obama Cookie strikes an excellent balance. The shortbread itself is rich and buttery, with just the right amount of crumble that you would expect from a high-quality shortbread cookie. It's neither overly sweet nor bland, allowing the natural flavors of the butter and flour to shine through. The icing, beyond just being decorative, adds an additional layer of sweetness to the cookie. It hardens to a nice, crisp layer, providing a delightful contrast to the soft and crumbly shortbread beneath. Each cookie is also individually wrapped, making them easy to take as a souvenir or gift.

Prominent spot in the Byward Market area. We walked through the market and ended up here for lunch. Tempting selection of cookies, breads, pastries, and sandwiches. Food was decent. Service was good but a bit slow. The selection on Obama cookies were unique.

Stopped by in Ottawa’s ByWard Market. Cute bakery with a wide selection of meals, desserts, and breads! Staff were bilingual and friendly with our questions. Breakfast with eggs were OK, custard in the fruit danish was tasty!Gets pretty busy on a Saturday morning!

This seems to be a notable spot at Byward Market. Their variety of sandwiches and pastries looked incredible and were decently priced! They even sell large meringue which I thought was very cute. I had the beef pie and it was pretty good. Good spot for tourists and locals definitely hit it up as well.
