Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Burnaby - Metrotown

I have really benefitted from both their reading and math programs offered at Kumon. It has made my high school years much more easier and smooth. The staff working there are very helpful and considerate, especially the head instructors, Tim and Alice. Both of them are enthusiastic about what they do, and truly want your child to develop new skills and improve on them. If you want great tutoring services for your child to improve on math and reading skills, this would be the best place to go.

I was a Kumon student for over 11 years, and it had helped me immensely throughout high school and my first year of University. The Learning Assistants have been very friendly, supportive, and encouraging as they checked in on me and answered any questions I had. The instructors, Tim and Alice, are highly motivated and very enthusiastic as they help their students and keep them on track towards their goal so they are feeling confident with their work. I highly recommend the Kumon program at this centre for anyone who wishes to develop strong study skills as well as improve their math and reading abilities.

Although I've only been learning at the Kumon centre for about 3 years, my math ability have improved significantly. The program builds a strong basis of fundamental skills for students before they enter to higher levels. It also focuses on establishing good learning habits and independent studying. These skills enabled me to succeed in school and other academical areas. Additionally, Tim, Alice, and the staff working there are super friendly and helpful, creating a positive learning environment for students at the centre. I highly recommend the Kumon program at this particular centre!

As a student, I had been a part of the Kumon program for over 10 years. During these years, I learned valuable knowledge and skills which enabled me to stay ahead in elementary and high school. Kumon also taught me how to approach new material and learn independently, which is a skill that I use on a daily basis now as a university student. Additionally, the structured nature of the Kumon program has helped me to understand the importance of staying on top of my workload and reviewing my class material regularly. The staff and instructors at the Metrotown Kumon Centre have always made me feel supported and valued, by having personal conversations with me to check my progress and understand my needs in order to help me further advance academically.

My two sons attended Metrotown Kumon for many years and had a wonderful learning experience. They started the Kumon Reading Program at preschool/kindergarten and completed it when they were in grades 6 and 7. They have learned knowledge that assist them in not only achieving higher grades in school, but also in developing a good learning habit, focus skills, and self-confidence. Kumon was a significant part of their childhood. Special thanks to Tim and Alice, who are always encouraging and supportive of my children, as well as the entire staffs, who are always friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend this centre to other parents.

While working as a Learning Assistant at Metrotown Kumon for two years, one of the things that really stood out to me was how structured the centre is. Everything is organized, whether that is the layout of the tables or the students’ folders. As Learning Assistants, we always encouraged students to be neat and efficient. One of the best things about Kumon is that it supports students while pushing them to take responsibility and work independently, and it prepares its students for success! The instructors, Tim and Alice, take interest in both parents and students and are very encouraging. I highly recommend this program, whether it is enrolling your children or applying for a job!

I was a Kumon math student at this location for 6 years, throughout high school and a year in elementary school. Tim and Alice are very friendly and accommodating instructors. The staff is patient and provide helpful feedback. I’ve been at a few different Kumon locations and this one is my favourite. The learning and classroom format is structured and very efficient in learning concepts and building foundation. I was able to quickly exceed my grade level at school with Kumon and was working on university level calculus in high school. The math program helped me math honours in high school as well as AP calculus for university credits. I highly recommend this Kumon centre for its dedicated staff and encouragement on useful problem solving skills.

I started Kumon two years ago, and it played a huge role in helping me develop my learning and work habits. While this amount of time may seem short, I have learned greatly from both their math and English programs, helping me get better grades in school and sometimes even staying ahead of the high school curriculum. While Kumon is mostly a self-learning course, the assistants and staff are friendly and help me whenever I need it, with the head instructors Tim and Alice always cheerful and upbeat. I feel that my entire experience has been valuable and well-spent, helping me cover a vast amount of relevant content effectively, such as calculus and analytical writing ahead of my grade. Thank you Kumon for all the time we spent, and to anyone reading this, I recommend that you give Kumon a try if you're struggling with your learning or maybe want to stay ahead of the curve. It'll help a lot!

I’ve been studying at Kumon for over 5 years, mainly focusing on math. The studies I did at the centre was really helpful and built up a strong base for my school work. Not only did it improve my academics but more importantly it also helped me developed an independent self-learning habit. I believe Kumon is a great place for young children to start-off their basis, as well as for older kids to further explore the learning subjects.

My son has been in the Kumon program for more than 6 years at this centre. As soon as my son started the Kumon program, he was able to accelerate his math skills right away and he has been in advanced math programs since then. He has also participated in many Math competitions throughout his school years and being in the Kumon Math program has played an important role in getting many successful results. The Reading program was also very helpful as topics in the Reading program are varied and interesting. I remember my son often reading books because of the excerpts shown in Reading worksheets. A huge thanks to Tim, Alice and the friendly & helpful staff/assistants at the centre as well! They are always supportive and truly care about students’ success! Overall, the Kumon program complements schoolwork very well and helps for building a strong foundation, so I would highly recommend it to any parents who want their children to stay ahead and be successful at school.
