We stumbled on El Jefe by accident making a wrong turn in Sydney and we are glad we did. Great little spot serving amazing traditional Mexican food, like the sign says Mexican food so authentic Donald Trump would build a wall around it" and the food didn't disappoint

This little Mexican restaurant in sydney on Charlotte street is absolutely fantastic. They advertise authentic Mexican food and they certainly deliver just that. The staff offered suggestion of both food and drink and even vegetarian options. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing! Thank you for a fantastic meal El Jefe we will certainly be back.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile now. It was a good experience, the complimentary chips and salsa were a nice touch. I had the enchiladas (with both green and red sauce) they were very very tasty and not too spicy. (Green sauce was preferred!) My dining partner had steak fajitias which were well cooked and flavourful. They also have a drink menu, we had a margarita and a beer. Service was great, the atmosphere/decor/furniture could use some work. All in all I will definitely be back! Great to have some authentic Mexican cuisine in the Cape!

I can't for the life of me figure out how this restaurant got so many 5* reviews. Maybe none of the previous reviewers have eaten authentic Mexican food. I guess I've been ruined by too many trips to places were this restaurant wouldn't survive. The food is mediocre and the service is also mediocre. Unless you're dying for this sort of food, dine elsewhere.

Great little spot. Delicious tacos. Vry tasty. Had chorizo and pork. Just a tip from other restaurants ive been at. Using two tortillas instead of one because they tend to fall apart easy would help. Some different sauces or salsa on the table would be great aswell. Will be back!

Great great great food :) , if you wont Mexican food look no further ... the food here has Flavorful food every test is great , shrimp are just Cook to perfection :)Have gone here 3 time in 2 weeksI have had the burritos, tacos, quesadillas, all supper goodWould recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good foodIf you like this review give me a thumbs up

They have 2 dollar tacos, we had the chorizo ones. It was delicious had a nice spice and was very flavorful. The homemade corn tortillas made the tacos for me.

Taco soup is awesome! I almost can't wait for cold weather. I'll continue to try out the items on the menu. Besides the soup I had one hit and one miss but I ordered something I hadn't tried before and it wasn't spicy. Great atmosphere, like being outside with the clear lightbulbs. Similar to an actual outdoor venue in Negril I ate at.
