I recently stumbled upon Maeli Market and was blown away by their amazing selection of Taiwanese snacks and specialty milk tea. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere, as well as the friendly staff who were eager to help me find what I was looking for. The shelves were stocked with an incredible variety of snacks, from savory to sweet, and everything in between. But what really stood out to me was their specialty milk tea from Taiwan - it was simply delicious and refreshing! In addition to the great selection, the prices were also very reasonable. I was thrilled to find my favorite dry fish with black sesame, which I've been trying to find for a while now, and it was much more affordable than at other markets. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Maeli Market, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great selection of Taiwanese snacks and specialty milk tea at an affordable price.

I really enjoy visiting and getting some Taiwanese snacks and essentials. They have a very nice selection of spices, sauces and snacks. The staff are very nice and helpful. Prices are quite fair. They also do bento and other food. The place is very clean and well designed.

Such beautiful hidden gem in North York! Very unique and stylish boutique Taiwanese supermarket! Lots of authentic Taiwanese groceries, snacks, cookies, noodles, tea, drinks, as well as fancy kitchen cookwares and dinning sets. They have a kitchen where you can order fresh made takeouts. Love their lunch bentos! Very nicely presented and super delicious! Parking in the garage is free for purchase over $15. Most importantly, excellent and super friendly customer service! Highly recommended!

I was thinking to get some Taiwanese cake or snack gift boxes for my friends in the US, since last time I purchased a Oolong tea gift from here and got very good reviews.I arrived around 2PM and it was quiet at the shop, with only a couple of customers. And there was this young man standing behind the cashier so obsessed with his cellphone that he even didn’t look up when I was seeking help to find my gift boxes. I felt that he’s acting like doing me a favor by helping me finding the gift boxes at where he works, if he really works here. Then this young lady came over and found me a pretty gift box with assorted cookie and cakes, however she reminded me that it would expire by the end of the month. And then she told me that anything with no preservatives sold at the shop would expire in a month. I happened to have picked a box of pineapple cake in my basket so I had to check the expiry date of that box carefully. Fortunately I found it won’t expire until June and I showed the ingredient label to the lady: no preservatives at all. It was the most embarrassing moment of that day.No matter how good their products are, I probably would not go there again within three months. And probably they shall not put “Taipei in Toronto” on the windows, because Maeli has little to do with the real Taipei, where people are kind, and services are impeccable.

We always visit this market for authentic Taiwanese groceries. We are impressed with them organizing this Taiwanese food festival and we indeed visit them 4 times during this promotion. They picked the cooperating vendors from different parts of Taiwan. The whole event has successfully introduced us with new and excellent quality of food. We can explore new taste and interaction with them. We hope that the market can arrange more of this type of events in the very near future! Thank you very much!

EDIT: came back recently and found the store to have even more unique Taiwanese items at competitive prices. Staff is as helpful as ever. A young gentleman saw me looking through the tea options and offered his insight about the flavours.***Really enjoyed walking through this well stocked Taiwanese store. They have lots of real Taiwan imported snacks, drinks, cooking ingredients, tea, and more. There's also a hot food section that has some ready to go items but also a selection of made-to-order bentos and dishes. Staff are very nice and helpful. The space is clean and everyone is wearing masks properly. There is a paid parking garage connected to the building but if you spend $15+ you can get parking validated for free.

The store has a lot of unique Taiwanese snacks and food/drink items for sale. The interior is spacious and tidy, with quite a variety and selection of items displayed. They also offer cooked foods like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, bentos, etc. that you can order for takeout (there are a few tables are set up outside, but no dedicated in-store seating is available). Service was friendly, though a bit slow, but it was a weekday and not too busy. If you spend more than $15 at the store, you can get 2 hours of free parking in the attached parking garage.

Sure, they carry Taiwanese stuff that may be harder to find elsewhere. But overall it’s just overpriced for no reason when you can get the same things or very comparable things from T&T or other cheaper Chinese supermarkets for much less. The store is nice but due to price I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The parking is also very confusing and annoying. I ended up just quickly parking on the street, which isn’t allowed there.

2022 August 4★A year or more and the store is a bit more packed. There are now more products and they even serve hot food. The location is good for those working in the area.Parking continues to be free (not sure if the minimum purchase requirement still exists).Prices can be ok.2021 3★ Nice clean and modern store selling a small selection of Taiwanese goods and some kitchen pottery. Personally, not a wide enough selection of goods, but OK for a visit. Parking is free with a 15 dollar purchase. However, I couldn't find anything worth buying that I couldn't find elsewhere. So paying for parking isn't worth it just to visit. Fortunately, there's a few street parking spots available nearby. There's a kitchen section which I assume will be available in the future for cooked/prepared foods. I'm sure with this addition it'll be better. For now, it's OK.
