Correct Canine Dog Training

We started working with Ian in February 2022 for our 6 1/2 year old Rottweiler that had developed leash reactivity towards other dogs during walks. A few months before finding Ian, we wasted money on another private trainer who was more focused on obedience and didn't actually give us a reason why our dog was acting the way she was. When I called Ian to inquire about his services, I could tell right away how much more knowledgeable he was than the previous pets mart" trainer. We scheduled an in person consult right away- during the consult (which wasn't even an official lesson)

Ian helped us a lot with our two dogs and the training they got was amazing. Always gave us updates and is always ready to help if we have questions or if we need a quick refresher on the training.

I took my dog to get trained by Ian an what a difference he made! Everything I wanted fixed was done professionally. He help us understand and trained us on the e collar which made a huge difference also! I highly recommend correct canine dog training for your dog training needs!

Ian and his team worked wonders for me, my 10 month old Goldendoodle was starting to get very rambunctious and jumping up, I needed help as I have a knee and heel injury I was not able to do the training. I contacted Correct Canine and spoke to Ian. He suggested that because of my injury he offers boarder training, that was the best decision I ever made and he also took my 4 year old to get the same training as Nova. Which made sense to me.Ian and his team worked wonders and my dogs are so well behaved that when people come to the house, I now have control on Benji and his barking which Ian fixed, they are told to place so there is no more jumping up on people they are blown away by the accomplishment made.Benji was trained as a pup, but nothing compares to Correct Canine and Ian’s methods.

I took my Australian Shepherd, Riley, for a 2 week Board & Train. He was terrible on the leash and jumped on every guest we had. It drove me nuts and Ian from Correct Canine came highly recommended and was well worth the wait to get Riley in.Riley is a new dog and I have the tools to manage his behaviour. He has been fantastic since coming home. I highly recommend Ian for any issues you are having with your dog. His training is quite simple, not complicated and very effective.Thank you Ian for everything! BTW, Riley misses you :)

We came to Ian looking for help with Dash and his recall. Before our training he would bolt any time he got loose and did not ever check in with us on or off a leash. After our training we can have him entirely off-leash for our hikes with 100% confidence that he will recall to us every single time. We also learned some useful skills like down-stay and place. We are so happy with the progress we have seen during our sessions and achieved everything we wanted and more. Dash is a completely different dog and we feel much more confident as dog parents knowing we can communicate with him in a way he understands.

5 stars for Canine Correct! Being a good teacher is part of being a great dog trainer.So, from one teacher to another thank you for teaching me how to communicate better with my dog. The training I received from Correct Canine was a game changer for us. Correct Canine keeps it real. Ian took the time to get to know us and find out our everyday routines and what my dog and I do together regularly. With that he taught me effective ways to communicate with my dog, being the leader when walking her, how to hold a leash so that I’m in control and use less arm strength. He also helped teach me and my dog commands that allowed me to go back country camping with her and paddle in a canoe for long periods of time. If I didn’t get training from Ian before heading out in my canoe I’m sure we would have tipped in the middle of the lake. His training is fair, easy to understand and connected to our everyday life and routines. Ian had a way of describing dogs behaviours and physical feelings that changed my way of thinking and allowed me to better understand my dog and give her tools that will keep her safe and happy. Canine Correct helped my dog become her best self and because of that she gets to experience nature adventures with me, while also keeping the bears away with her big bark. Training sessions and tools are worth every penny spent.

After several dog owners recommended Ian to train my Border Collie I engaged his servces. After 2 weeks of training my dog now walks great on a leash, has fantastic recall skills, sits and stays on command and immediately drops items I do not want him to have. I highly recommend Ian as a trainer.

My lab puppy Reign and I had the pleasure of training with Ian for a couple months before we moved. In my new location (4 hours away) I'm very much missing our weekly sessions, in which Ian provided the structure to make great progress in a short time, the insight to help me understand how to be a better leader for my pup, and the results to keep us both excited to learn more.Even before we started our sessions, Ian helped with recommendations for crate training and socialization. I really appreciated the time he took to set us up for success.Ian is a knowledgeable and experienced trainer.
