The Market

Staff is super friendly and very knowledgable of the local area. The market has all your basic amenities for camping around Bamfield or staying at the motel next door.

We visited, ‘The Market’ on a quiet September weekend. When we arrived in Bamfield we where a little worried that ‘The Pub’ was closed and the only place open in Bamfield was, ‘The Market’. One person in our group even said...’is there an IGA in town or is this it?’ Well after 2 nights and 3 days in Bamfield I can truly say..’this is it!’ Look no further, ‘The Market’ can satisfy every single one of your needs. You have no need to stock up before coming to Bamfield because this is a FULL grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy & restaurant. They have a bigger selection of booze then most liquor stores in the USA. If you’re looking for snacks...this is it! They have an incredible selection of snacks if you have the munchies. Our hotel had a kitchen and well this grocery store also met all our needs and more. They have fresh produce, dairy, spices and everything you’d need to make gourmet meals. For a sleepy town like Bamfield I am beyond impressed. In fact I am stopping there on my way home to make sure I can bring back a little taste of Bamfield to my home. 5 stars. Had lunch here after finishing the West Coast trail. Food was delicious and service was good!

Excellent food, friendly staff and a calm ambience.

We had just finished the West Coast Trail and they offered up a great patio and even better food. We ordered a ton of food, burgers, wings, calamari, halibut and chips. The next day we went back for their breakfast sandwiches. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

This is not a grocery store with good fresh food. It mostly has a good selection of alcohol (tons of beer, wine, and liquor), but not a good selection of food. Most things that you can make meals with are frozen meals and the food here is very pricey. It was very disappointing to come to this store after finishing the WCT and daydreaming about food for the last couple of days. The cafe attached was also a disappointment, the service was terrible. Unfortunately there is not a better option without going across the bay to the west side of Bamfield to the mercantile and marine shop, which I would recommend (they have a better selection of fresh food including pizza, sandwiches etc).

Delicious food! The eggs benny is amazing. Staff is super friendly. First Nations owned! Love it! The market itself also has a good selection of basics. :)

It's the only store in East Bamfield so what are you going to do! But really it is just fine. Would be great if they had a bit more fresh food but again this is a pretty remote community and given that I think they have more than you would expect. Also the prices seem fair again for the remote location. Appreciated them offering fresh water from the hose when the campground ran out. Good place for sure.

Showed up right before closing and guy kept it open for me and my brother. It’s got all u need at the market.
