WARNING to BANDS about VENUE THEFT @ Strumms N Drumms, Surrey!DO NOT PLAY SHOWS OR TRUST THE MANAGEMENT/OWNER @ STRUMMS N DRUMS, we had $370 worth of merch that their management just decided to give away to staff & claim no responsibility for. *The promoters have no fault or wrong doing in this situation* its purely venue management & owners*On Saturday June 1st Param-Nesia played Strumms N Drums, & we regrettably forgot our box of Merch behind after the show. Not long after load out we had messaged the last band at the venue to recover our forgotten merch, & was told the venue was holding onto it for us for pick up.The following day we had gone to retrieve our merch only to look in the box & notice that half of the stuff is missing.As soon as we picked up the forgotten merch & before even starting conversation, the manager immediately started on the defensive side saying “someone was handling the box & he is not responsible for anything stolen” like he already knew stuff had been stolen, & kept repeating himself with that statement, giving us the impression right away that something wasn’t right.After doing an inventory count & messaging all the bands & promoter, we knew we needed to get to the bottom of this missing merch because the venue’s story just wasn’t adding up. As a bar manager, you’d think that you’d question “someone” going through a box of merch, that wasn’t theirs and taking items out… & not just a few but:4 x Small, 9 x Med, 2 x LG t-shirts, & 14 x beer koozies. ALL TAKEN from our merch box.After our complaints they magically “found another box” with our merch in it… Funny, because we only had ONE box of merch to begin with so now why all of sudden is there a second box that is still in the venues possession…? So we arranged a time to pick up the items.When we arrived, the first thing we see is a STAFF MEMBER WEARING OUR SHIRT that obviously wasn’t paid for. He withheld information about who gave him the shirt until we pressured him enough & told us that “the manager gave it to me”. That was the second staff member to tell us the management had given them some merch.After what felt like talking to immature teenagers to try & get this resolved, the owners & management just kept pointing the finger at the other band & us saying its our responsibility to take our stuff after the show… & yes we agree, but that doesn’t mean that our merch is a Free giveaway once left behind for not even a day. They even went as far as saying “ the last band that was here told us to do what we wanted with the stuff & to give it away to staff if they wanted” & that “the last band that night, tried to steal their house drums” like that had anything to do with our current conversation, other then him tying to divert the topic at hand …Yeah….right…We asked for the remaining money that was owed to us for the stolen goods & of course they aggressively refused, & would not take any sort of responsibility or pay.Never in the many years of playing giggs have any of us encountered a venue actually claiming our stuff like its theirs not even 24hours after.Everything about this situation was sketchy from the get go coming from Strumms N Drums. They seem to lack professionalism & have a carefree way of running their venue. When we had arrive to play our gig, two staff member had been waiting 1.5 hours outside for a meeting that the manaegemnt never bothered to show up for…that is until they showed up over an hour late for our Band Load In.We will NEVER PLAY there again & we hope people & musicians alike will follow suit. MUSIC IS ABOUT CREATING COMMUNITY, NOT ROBBING FROM IT.

If I could give this place a ZERO STAR review I would. These people need to go back to school & learn how to run a venue & not rip off the hard working bands that come to play. They also need a reality check....Absolutely TERRIBLE Management!

Inexperienced staff and owners. Don't go to this place. Not as a performing band, or a customer of any kind.

In all the years of doing shows, I have never had a venue steal a bands merch not even 24 hours after accidentally leaving it behind. When they showed up to claim the merch one of their staff members was wearing the stolen shirt... but yet they still say it's none of their responsibility & have done nothing wrong... YOUR STAFF MEMBER WAS WEARING A STOLEN SHIRT that the manager had given him... how obvious can it get, you clearly took what wasnt yours !!!!NEVER GO TO STRUMMS N BUMBS!

absolutely brutal treatment of bands. We played there last week and a fellow band had an entire box of their merch stolen by management. On top of this, the venue refuses to accept any responsibility and went as far as to point fingers at our band saying we told them to give away another bands merchandise and accused us of trying to steal their house drum kit, when there is absolutely zero merit to this seeing as we are an entirely self contained with all our own gear. Avoid this place like the plauge.

My band played this venue June 1st, 2019 and had our merch (shirts etc) stolen by the owner and staff. We went back to confront them and get our stuff and one of the staff was actually wearing our stolen shirt while still denying they stole anything! Insanity. Avoid this thieving lying dump. Plenty of places support a healthy music scene. Not these criminals.

Absolute atrocity of a venue, the management stole merchandise from a local band and tried to blame a touring act for the misplacement of the items, when the staff themselves were caught wearing the merchandise days after the show. They refused to pay the bands and have chosen to publicly slander the bands.
