Prospect Downs Stables

After a ten-year hiatus from riding, I randomly stumbled upon this barn and, WOW, did I ever hit the jackpot!! Lisa and the rest of the staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. Everything I could have asked for as I was getting back into riding. I have only been at Prospect Downs since September, and I have truly found my new home away from home. In addition to the fantastic treatment, Lisa helped me find my dream horse. I am forever grateful to her and the rest of the team for the outstanding love and care we have both received in our few short months of being here. Lisa is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things horse-related.She is an excellent teacher and has really helped me to become the rider I dreamed I could be. The facility is terrific: three outdoor rings for the warmer days and a heated indoor arena. So no matter what the weather brings, you can always enjoy a ride! The barn is well organized, clean, and tidy, making Prospect Downs a lovely place to spend your day. Hands down, I recommend this barn to anyone who has been riding, getting back into riding or learning to ride. I don't doubt you will fall in love with everything about this place, just like I have!!!

I decided to get back into riding after taking many years off for University...and I'm so glad I found this barn!I have been taking lessons from Lisa at Prospect Downs since 2016.The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Riding outside in the 3 big rings is spectacular..while the heated indoor arena makes it possible to ride even during those cold, snowy or rainy days.The barn is kept clean, tidy and organized. The recent renos to the west barn makes the area light, airy and inviting...perfect for catching up over a cup of coffee while your horse stands under the warming solarium.The health and safety of the horses (and all the animals on the property) are of the upmost priority for Lisa...and that's clearly evident with the daily care provided by her and her staff.I will continue to recommend this barn! It's a great place to learn, ride and meet new people.Whether you're looking to get back into riding or want to further your skills, this is the place to be!

Absolutely love this barn! The owner Lisa is a great trainer of both horse and rider, and cares so much for all of the horses. Updates and improvements are always ongoing. The barn is kept clean, and the grounds are lovely. Excellent footing. The staff are great and take pride in what they do. Lots of age groups and no crazy attitudes. Friendly faces and lots of fun at this wonderful facility. You will find my horse in training with Lisa at this barn, and me in the tack most days as well under Lisa's close watch. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Have had my horse here 2 years already and love it. Lisa is a great coach and the place is kept in excellent condition. My horse and I are both very happy here.

I love it here. Finding myself back in the saddle in my 60's after 11 years of not riding could have been a massive challenge but Lisa has eased me back into the saddleI am honoured to ride the amazing Chewy. Clean, friendly, quiet, easy to get to from Calgary oh! and did I mention Chewy!!!!

I love this barn! Lisa is absolutely wonderful to work with. I started riding with her when I was a kid but ended moved to another barn. My mom and Lisa remained friends through the years and when my mom purchased a horse of her own last year, she of brought her to Prospect Downs. Lisa keeps the property well maintained. The outdoor arenas are great in the summer. The heated arena makes riding in the winter possible. Horses are also very taken care of! Lisa takes the time with every student to really make sure they understand and are learning. I really enjoy my lessons with Lisa! I’ve learned more in the past few months than all my other years of riding! I’ll always recommend Lisa Smith and Prospect Downs.

I absolutely love prospect downs, the people and horses there are amazing. I've been riding here for almost a year and I love it. I've learned so much and I am so thankful to Lisa and Calli. I highly recommend it if you want to improve your riding.
