Daan Go Cake Lab

I came here a couple of times already. I waited for an hour to order the cakes and pastries. Thanks God that they tasted great, so I didn’t waste my time to wait to order. You can see all the cakes or pastries that I ordered via the photos here.The second time I visited this cake lab again was to pick up a birthday cake. It was great that I could just head to the counter and skipped the long lineup. I showed the order number to the staff at the counter. She could bring the cake to me right away.If you look at the cake lab website, you can see the images and description of their products. I love them all. I would like to come back and try other items. Currently, the website has unlimited items. I am guessing the cake lab does not have the capacity to take online orders yet. I tried to call many times and order or check on my online order. Nobody picked up the phone. I hope the business will run better and more smoothly soon.I would highly recommend this cake lab to others. I am sure adults and children would love the cakes and pastries. Their packaging such as boxes and bags are very creative and beautiful.

Visited during the opening weekend so the wait was 1hour+. The desserts are cute and have a lot of variation but the taste is just okay. The Lucky Duck is cute but the flavours of Lemon curd and Pistachio cream didn't really go well together. The macrons tasted better than the cakes.

Goodness, this place was delicious and cute, though because of its popularity, a lot of cakes were already sold out. I really wanted to try all the special cakes, but seventy-five percent of them were already gone.The place is a bit more expensive than other places, it's 8.50$ for a special (ramen, cat, cup) cake, 10$ for ice cream, and 7.50$ (I believe) for normal cakes.Love their service, had no trouble with it. The place is a bit under decorated with only a few seats, so a lot of people just get take out.Taste wise (a bit sweet but no big problem with the sweetness): 4.5/5Price: $Atmosphere: very cleanComeback rate: 100%

Waited in line for an hour, but it was definitely worth it! I only got one macaron because they’re quite pricey at almost $4 per macaron, but the pandan coconut flavour was delicious! They’re also so cute. The real star of the show was the special cakes they offer at a great price! I would spend $8.50 on a normal slice of cake anywhere else, but here you get cute themed cakes! I got the cheesecake fromage and the lucky duck. They both tasted super unique and delicious. You can tell they were designed by a master chef, given the unique flavour combinations and textures. Definitely worth trying!! Maybe wait until the hype dies down though so you don’t have to wait an hour like I did.

I usually don’t review things online but I am quite disappointed with this new Vancouver location. I had been to the Toronto one in the past and have been thoroughly so surprised as how good everything was but could not say the same for here.Cakes looked uneven and were sloppy looking. The layers between the cream and cake were slanting on one side with the whole cake looking uneven just from the top view. Macarons were really sweet with mild flavours of what they should be. Croissants were stale tasting and had strawberries that were not fresh. (See photo). Cream was borderline buttery tasting. I couldn’t finish the croissant.Service was alright but looked like the staff were all new and had no idea how things worked. Many were folding boxes just right behind the front counter so everyone could see.Daan Go Cake Lab was a place I would’ve flown back to Toronto to just have again but I don’t think I would come back again for awhile to try. Improvements definitely need to be made if the prices are going to be competitive to other local shops that have fresher and higher quality goods.

Went there near closing time so those cutie cakes were sold out. Bought mango passion fruit cheesecake and milky way. They are very smooth. The only improvement should be cashier training. The line moves very slow because of one cashier only and the cashier also need to put cakes to bag. Some people left because they couldn’t wait the line. Some staff in other positions have nothing to do but wait for the cashier finished the line. That could be improved after.

One of the best macarons I have ever had! The fragrance was amazing, the look was cute, a bit expensive but it was worth the price! Tried the carrot cake with the rabbit shape, it was good. Tried the tiramisu with a cat on it, outstanding! Both David and Christopher was at the shop, serving nice pastries and chatting with customers, it was amazing that both MasterChef winners were so friendly and welcoming! It was a great pleasure to meet them and taste the food they have created. Last but not least, thanks for the Tong Yuan cookies you gave me Christopher! It was delicious and so special, combines the flavor from Asia and still rock it! Looking forward to visit again!

Took tons of photos this time. Very innovative and cute cakes. I havent tried the pastries but we enjoyed the cakes.One surprise at the end was we didn’t know the cup holding the cactus was 100% edible chocolate.

Minus one star for the hour-long lineup. They offer a variety of baked goods including cookies, croissants, macarons, molded cakes, and layered cakes. I got 4 slices of layered cakes this time and they all taste pretty good. They all had graham cracker crust at the bottom. It would be nice if they had the nutritional information available so I can better estimate my intake of calories and nutrients. I would come back again if the lineup is shorter.
