I just completed another workshop with Symplicity and (once again), it really made me think about how I run my business. Since completing their training in the summer, I have adopted many of their tools and methodologies, which help me FOCUS every day, on the most important things for growth and business success.

I’ve had the privilege to work with and learn from the Symplicity team for the past 2 years. When a company cares, truly cares, about the success of a community all boats rise. Thank you to the team for wanting to make Atlantic Canada better, one business at a time, thanks to your passion for process I’m able to make my passion a career.

Three years ago, my business was on the proverbial treadmill. We had a lot of staff, a lot of revenue, low profit and low employee morale. Enter Symplicity. After taking our leadership team to the 5 day Performance Excellency course, we decided to go for a full transformation – no small endeavor for a small business like mine. The Symplicity team taught us how to view our business through a 30day/90day/1 year/5 year and 10 year lens. This created a level of adaptability I didn’t think was possible. They taught us how to lead change for continuous improvement – but here was the key: all along I had a powerful underutilized force that, through our work with Symplicty, was unleashed: our people. Learning to utilize our people to effect good improvement on process in fulfillment of our purpose was the game changer. Our people became process owners vs. renters. Some staff didn’t want to come along for the ride, but that was alright - we had gained such overwhelming efficiency that we could easily service our workload in a cool, calm and collected manner that I never thought was possible. My staff are happier than they’ve ever been. I am happier than ever and for once, we look forward to the future instead of fearing it. I won’t sugar-coat this successful transformation … it was damn hard. It took a level of discipline not every business owner has. It required me to lose my ego, be vulnerable and let go of controlling everything. There were fights, debates, tears and even some goodbyes. In short, it takes GRIT. But we believed in our purpose and we wanted more out of our careers and, oh my Lord, has it ever paid off. Our friends at Symplicity helped us see our own power- but they didn’t tell us what to do – wouldn’t have worked if they had. The change came from within – they showed us how to lead it. Matt and Mark bring a wealth of knowledge and ideas I have applied to my business. They helped me get the clarity I needed to take my business to the next level and also provided the structure and systems to get there!Highly recommend!

Working with Symplicity helped us understand where we needed help and how to address core issues. Now on a quarterly basis we take a deep dive to identify our strategic path. Then we meet monthly to review metrics and track our progress. We have seen huge results. In just under two years we have grown from a 3 person team to 7 with the financial success to support it.
