Boat Launch

This is a municipally maintained public access boat ramp. It is 11.5 feet in width and ramp surface is 44 feet from crest to normal water level and extends well beyond under the surface. The ramp, unfortunately faces directly into the prevailing winds, so it can be tricky or unsafe to launch in strong winds. However, Callander Bay's waters are sheltered by an archipelago of islands which act as a breakwater against the much larger rollers of Lake Nipissing. At only 4km from the lee of these islands, waves generated will never be anywhere as bad as at North Bay. Parking is incredibly limited. There are only 8 spots when vehicles with trailers are able to park. Vehicle without trailers may take up those spots. There are very few other parking spots, so if you come late on a nice day, expect to park somewhere else in town and walk back to the Pier. I recommend the parking lot at Centennial Park. Also, remember that you can moor for free/space available, inside the harbour (formed by the Municipal Pier) but there is no overnight mooring (and substantial fines for those who do) (This will be remedied once a Municipal Marina is re-established)
