Sunnybrook Hospital Emergency Room

Is there minus stars? I’ve been patiently waiting for 7 hours at the “emergency” room. I didn’t say a single word to anybody the whole time. After 7 hours of waiting I asked the nurse when will I be seen and she started yelling at me and being rude. I get it, they’re understaffed and overworked, but also if you’re an hourly wage worker like me you’re having to choose between your health and paying your bills. And with a horrible service on top. Did they forget that this is called medical “care”? No body seems to care.

Absolutely unacceptable nurses attitude in Purple Emergency Department Purple !!Joy S .has no compassion , no, patient support, rood and unfriendly attitude !!The nurse in charge on June 28 , 2022 the evening shift (refused to give me her name ) , instead of listening and trying to help prized me with an emergency room operation system rules and offered to call a security if my behavior would not improve!!I believe that if patient in pain has to wait for doctor observation for more than 8 hours it is not acceptable !I believe that every patient deserves at least a respect and compassion!My Mother is 93 years old could not tolerate it and had to leave without doctor’s help.

Horrible manner. Reception gives different stories (general info) for different patients for wait time. I was literally listen to a patient ahead of me, they told him the general wait time is 4-5 hours, while one told me is over 10 hours. I asked why telling different story to different patients. Staff just said, I am not the one who said 4-5, you wait or go as you please. Sunnybrook should re-train all the staff to maintain one standard for everyone within the area. 100% would not suggest Sunnybrook in case of anything.

First of all the wait time is way too much but i think the hospital cannot really help regarding that. This is the second hospital I’m going to with my pain and eventhough they were really busy, all the staffs were extremely courteous and understanding.The nurses and doctors in the emergency room are really nice and empathetic. I think most of the times, some empathy and understanding can go a long way.My experience in this hospital was better than the one i went to earlier.If you can bear a little wait time, i would recommend this hospital.

This emergency room is not worth a visit.My daughter was here last night and they give her extremely hard time and the nurses are extremely rude. I was surprised to see how the patients were treated here. Especially the seniors. Looking at the reviews it shows that there has been many incidents of abuse in this hospital. They have no rights to treat patients like animals. I am going to complain to the hire ups so they can investigate this hospital and especially their staffs. I will also make cp24 involve so they realse that abuse is not acceptable in hospital. The worst service my daughter received and we are extremely disappointed. We would never recommend this emergency for anyone. Their nurses should have a better attitude and they should be more professional dealing with their patients

My wife was admitted recently to the emergency by an ambulance around 9.30 pm. The waiting time was insane & she spent the whole night with her abdominal pain for 12 hours & got contacted a nurse & Dr. by the next day around 9.00 am. Sadly, there were no Doctors at night. However, the Nurses & Doctors were really nice to go through all the procedures & testings.

Sorry to say this but requires lot of improvement especially more staffing because wait hours are very long at walking emergency services. However, I do appreciate your help to my cousin

I was at this hospital 2 weeks ago and spent 12 hours there. I was told nothing was wrong with me. I’m in my 30s and don’t go to the hospital at all so that means it was serious based on how I felt. I’m back 2 weeks later and have been waiting a while. My conditions have worsened and as per signage I approached the nurse to report on it since my initial triage. I kept being sent away and was told they need to triage more serious situations. Not sure how they know they are more serious when they haven’t seen these people. The people they see in triage…I keep overhearing giggling and laughing while I’m literally in tears from pain in my internal organ areas. They are not taking me seriously at all.Both experiences at this hospital feels like we’re in an underdeveloped country.

Full appreciation for doctors and nurses here. However, this hospital has so clearly lost its funding in Doug Ford’s era. One doctor for all of ER at a trauma hospital. Broken kiosks, broken hand sanitizers. Massive amounts of blood stained floors in waiting room. When notified, cleaning crew tried to clean it up but it had been sitting so long it has permanently stained the floors. Just another example of the staffing crisis. The healthcare system and the workers NEED to be treated better. Do better, Ford.
