Highly recommend West Coast Martial Arts in Maple Ridge to all those looking to get in shape, develop self-confidence, build patience and discipline, and acquire humility. My experience has been amazing. Head coach Don is very approachable and truly cares for his students. Coach Brodie is also a great coach, and also teaches Muay Thai kickboxing. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes are offered 3-4 times a week. You only get what you put into the classes so a strong commitment to learning and self development is required. Initially stages can be overwhelming for some but if you stick through a month, there will be no regrets. You might look back later and wish you started sooner.

Instructor Brodie is so great and patient with the kids. Even when he has to have hard conversations with kids about behavior issue's he is kind, patient but firm all at the same time. It’s a great workout and we love to be able to watch our daughter practice and earn promotions.

I ended up needing to do a chargeback with my bank due to unauthorized charges. It's very unfortunate because the two people actually in the studio are amazing. They've got hearts of gold, the owner who lives away 50% of the year though, was nothing but a headache.Brodie is a fantastic teacher. He cares about the kids and gives them attention, and follow through. My son is SO happy to be going, he's already asking to go more often. 10/10

I have been training BJJ with West Coast Martial Arts for close to two years now. My son and I started training at the same time and my daughter is now training as well. This school is amazingly open and inviting. As a beginner, my questions were always welcome. I have not met a student at the school that has been unwilling to help you with a technique or offer you helpful advice. The instructors are fantastic and you can see that trickle down to the students; the environment of this school is amazing.Being on the mats is a tremendous workout! I could not recommend this school enough.

Moved to Maple Ridge, was looking for a family oriented jiu jitsu gym. And came across West Coast Martial arts on google. The place really is great and lives up to all the rest of the wonderful reviews. Highly recommend to at least check the place out in person.

It has been a pleasure bringing my son to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Coach Brodie is an excellent coach, his language is funny but spot on, his attitude is amazing and his attentiveness is wonderful! Coach Don knows all his students, no matter how many he has and how often he sees them. He makes you feel like family. Thank you everyone for making us feel like we really belong!

The vibe in this place is amazing, as soon as you walk in you feel like family . Coach Brodie is an excellent teacher , It s clear he has passion for teaching. I have seen immediate and very clear change in my son s demeanor and attitude since being enrolled in Brazilian Jujitsu

Been attending WCMA for a few months now. Will admit, I had some reservations about joining, but was encouraged to give it a try by a neighbor and was not disappointed.The instructors are great. Brodie and Cam are patient, helpful and at the same time, will give you that push to get better and improve. The owner followed up frequently at the start to ensure that things were going well.Everyone I've come across in the classes has been friendly, welcoming and encouraging, even as a brand new member. It's a great environment, a great form of exercise, and really wish I got started much sooner in life.Classes at WCMA are one of the highlights of my week, and always look forward to attending my next class. I was brand new to martial arts and was welcomed with open arms. Fast forward past the initial few classes and coach Don is still as welcoming as in the beginning. Coach Don genuinely wants to help improve your bjj skill set regardless of your level of experience. The students in the class are all eager to learn and it’s a great atmosphere for anyone thinking about joining!
