Scotiabank Theatre Halifax

Normally love going here but today while I was in one of the theatres I saw three mice running around. I mentioned it to an employee who said she would mention it to management.

We visited Scotiabank Theatre for the first time when Avatar 2 was on air. Loved the place! Quite cozy and clean. And the quality of the movie was awesome :)

Loved the movie screen and the D-bos experience. Definitely will be seeing more movies often here going forward.

In my recent movie-going experience, I felt as if I was sitting in a damp basement that hadn't been used for 20 years. The musty scent was inescapable throughout the entire venue. I understand that Halifax has been quite humid recently, but this awful experience has certainly put me off returning.

Would be nice if ticket price information was in any way accessible???No information on the website (at least not before you select every single detail AND make an account for the site; an account you dont need if you decide tockets are too much).Also there is apparently no way to call the theatre to ask for prices either: NO options on the automated voicemessage bring you to a real person, even after I tried each route.

Pretty comfy seating for IMAX, lines weren't long and sound was great. Can't ask for much more.Haven't been to the arcade in years, but remember it being fun as a kid/teen.

He's very polite and is sending me some movie passes to make up for the experience!Usually I don't have a problem with Scotiabank Theatre but today's experience wasn't a great one. Went to see the new Mario movie (awesome movie btw) and even splurged for the Dbox tickets (also awesome). Once snacks were paid for the condiments and straws were in really short supply. Couldn't find a stir stick for my coffee and the creamers were sitting un lukewarm water. I tried to get a workers attention so I could stir my coffee and after being noticed by a few of them (they ignored me) I was finally helped by a really polite young lady. She couldn't track down anything to stir my coffee with unfortunately so I just dealt with it. After going to the proper screen and finding our seats it wasn't hard to tell that nothing was done cleaning wise between shows. There was candy and popcorn everywhere. I even had to clean popcorn off my seat so I could sit down. I've tried to get in contact with someone at the theater to deal with these issues before I gave my review but sadly nobody has called me back. I've been a longtime customer and frequently come to this location but if something isn't done about my experience I may rethink this particular spot.

Although I love this place, and it has been my favourite theatre in Halifax, one of my top reasons for coming here has been drastically damaged. I would have said that one of the main benefits of choosing this theatre over the others in Halifax is that they run the Time Play games before the movie, where you can answer a series of trivia questions, and win points toward future movie purchases. They used to give a top prize of 100 points to the winner, and 50 points to the top five or ten people. Now they have changed it so the top winner only get 25 points and the next two people only get 5 points. It's not even worth playing, and I won't be wasting my time. Plus, I don't want to sit through watching the game for no reason, so I won't be showing up as early for my movies and wasting all that time. And I will probably more often go to the other cinemas in town because their showing times are much better for regular working people. Lately I've been noticing that this location offers movies at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, while other cinemas still offer 6:15-7:00 shows. It's way too late for me to go to an 8:00 pm movie, and 5:00 pm is too early to get any friends to come with you, so Bayers Lake is getting less appealing.

Clean lobby and theater, friendly staff, not a deafeningly loud show, not freezing in the theater. Overall, great visit!
